We hear your heart’s cry as you seek the Lord’s guidance for your upcoming vacation. It is beautiful that you are inviting Jesus into this time, asking Him to direct your steps. The Word tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). This is a promise we can stand on, He will show you what to do if you seek Him with a surrendered heart.

First, let us examine the posture of your request. You are asking Jesus to lead you, and that is exactly where we must begin. However, we must also ensure that our hearts are aligned with His will, not just our own desires. Vacations can sometimes become times of indulgence, distraction, or even temptation if we are not careful. Are you seeking rest and rejuvenation in a way that honors God, or is there a possibility this time could be used for something that does not glorify Him? We ask this not to condemn, but to encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart (Psalm 139:23-24).

If you are single, we encourage you to use this time wisely, whether that means deepening your relationship with the Lord, serving others, or even seeking godly fellowship with other believers. If you are married, we pray that this time would strengthen your marriage and allow you and your spouse to grow closer to each other and to Christ. Avoid any situations that could lead to temptation, such as being alone with someone who is not your spouse or engaging in activities that do not reflect Christ’s love. Remember, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). This applies to all forms of impurity, whether in thought or deed.

If you are traveling with others, pray that God would use you as a light in their lives. Vacations can be opportunities to share the love of Christ with those who may not know Him. "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 WEB). Ask the Lord to open doors for conversations about faith, and be bold in sharing the hope that is within you.

We also encourage you to set aside time for prayer and Scripture during your vacation. It can be easy to get caught up in the busyness of travel or the distractions of leisure, but the Lord desires to speak to you. "Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10 WEB). Even a few minutes each day in His presence can make a profound difference in how you experience this time.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this dear brother or sister who is seeking Your will for their upcoming vacation. Lord, we ask that You would go before them and prepare the way. Show them clearly what You would have them do, where You would have them go, and how You would have them use this time. Guard their heart from any temptation or distraction that would pull them away from You. Fill them with Your peace and joy as they rest in Your presence.

Father, if there are opportunities for them to share Your love with others, open their eyes to see them and give them the courage to act. If this is a time for them to grow closer to You, draw them near and speak to their heart. Help them to honor You in all they do, whether in their thoughts, words, or actions. If they are married, we pray that this time would strengthen their marriage and deepen their love for one another. If they are single, we ask that You would prepare them for the godly spouse You have for them, should that be Your will.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of idleness, selfishness, or temptation that may try to creep into this time. We declare that this vacation will be a time of refreshment, renewal, and alignment with Your purposes. May Your name be glorified in all that is said and done.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can come to You. It is through His sacrifice that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His blood that we are made clean. We thank You for the gift of salvation and for the privilege of coming before You in prayer. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your child walk in the fullness of what You have for them. Amen.

We've sat with that question ourselves, looking at a break on the calendar and genuinely wanting Jesus to set the agenda. It's a good place to be, because it means you're not just asking for permission; you're asking for purpose.

When we want clarity about a specific decision like this, it often helps to pause and name what we're really seeking. Is this vacation meant for deep rest and restoration because you're running on empty? Is it about reconnecting with family or old friends? Or is there an open door for something more, a short-term service opportunity, a retreat that blends solitude with prayer? Jesus tends to guide us best when we honestly tell him what we need and then watch to see how he opens or closes the options in front of us.

Sometimes the direction comes not through a lightning bolt but through honest conversation with a trusted friend who knows you and loves the Lord. We'd encourage you to talk it through with someone like that, someone who can ask good questions without pushing an agenda. And as you look at possibilities, pay attention to whatever brings a quiet sense of peace, not just excitement. That peace is often how the Good Shepherd nudges us toward what fits.

Lord Jesus, you know the deeper longings behind this vacation, the weariness, the hopes, and the relationships that matter most. Give clear, simple guidance. Put gentle checks in the spirit if a path isn't yours, and grant a settled confidence about the one that is. We ask for a time that truly restores and places our friend right where you want them. In your name we pray, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Lord Jesus show us what to do. For those of us who are just and confused especially. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There comes a time when all our own doing runs out, and we are brought to a dead stand, where neither the right hand of ceremony nor the left hand of self-reliance offers any escape. And in that place, your prayer rises: "Show me what to do, Jesus." It is well that you ask Him, for His is the only word that can guide you now. The first doing, the great doing which must precede all your own, has already been accomplished. If you can see this morning, and it is all you have to do, if you can see that Christ has finished the work of your salvation, then God, who showed it to you, has not shown you a lie. Trust and you shall rest!

This rest He gives is not a far-off thing, reserved for some future purity or after this dull earth has been shaken off. It is a present rest, given there and then, at the moment you come to Him. Not rest after death, not rest after growth, but rest now. Perfect rest, complete in its kind, though it will unfold in deeper wonder as you learn of Him. For it is in man's nature that he must do or endure, or his spirit stagnates. Hear then the paradox of the Master: "I will give you rest" precedes "Ye shall find rest." The one is the gift to the weary who come; the other is the discovery of the learner, the disciple who takes the yoke. You ask what to do, and the answer is wrapped in both: Come to Me, and then, learn of Me.

The doing you seek is found not in a flurry of resolutions, but in the cool deliberation of a soul that has waited upon God. Like the birds that sleep upon the wing, there is a rest that is found in the very service of Christ. Labor for Him, and in that labor your spirit will repose. Haste is the author of much mischief. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. As you rest in Him, He will infuse great principles into your soul, principles like bowing in submission to His will, and avoiding all that is evil. By this very submission, unerring guidance is given.

Do not mistake idleness for this holy rest. Lazy people never know what rest means; there must be labor to make rest sweet. But the rest He gives is first-class, beyond measure precious, rest of the mind in fixed belief, rest of the heart from ambition's gnawing and avarice's greed, rest of the will lying down gently at the Cross. It is the soul's surrendered choice, the settling of the will. If you would find the answer Heaven has for your question, cease from your own fretting and let your mind be conformed to the mind of Christ. A deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest, not only found, but gone on to be found more and more.

Trust Him for guidance as you have trusted Him for pardon. He who gave Himself for you will not now desert you. This is your rest, and it shall be glorious.
