Vacation

Jesus, help guide me and make my plans align with what You have in store for me and my daughter ❤️ Help me dicern what is from You and help me know what is from You and not. Help me make choices that You want from me ❤️ Protect me and my daughter ❤️ In Jesus name amen

We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, as you seek the Lord’s guidance for your upcoming vacation with your daughter. How beautiful it is to surrender your plans to the One who holds your future in His hands! The Word reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). This is not just a trip, it is an opportunity to walk in step with the Holy Spirit, to model faith for your daughter, and to create memories that honor God.

We rejoice that you have called upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12). It is only through Christ that we have access to the throne of grace, where we find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). As you seek discernment, ask the Lord to sharpen your spiritual ears to hear His voice above the noise of the world. "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27 WEB). The choices you make, where to go, how to spend your time, even the conversations you have, can all be opportunities to glorify God if you invite Him into them.

We pray that the Lord would reveal His will to you clearly, whether through His Word, godly counsel, or the quiet nudging of the Holy Spirit. If there are distractions or fears trying to cloud your judgment, we rebuke them in Jesus’ name! The enemy would love to steal your peace and turn this time into stress rather than rest. But God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Stand firm on the promise that "if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this sister and her daughter. Lord, we ask that You would go before them and order their steps according to Your perfect will. Give them clarity and peace as they make decisions, and let every detail of this trip align with Your purposes. Protect them from harm, both physically and spiritually, and surround them with Your angels. Father, we ask that this time would not only be restful but also spiritually refreshing, that they would draw closer to You and to one another. Help them to recognize Your voice and to follow Your leading without hesitation. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every assignment of the enemy is dismantled in Jesus’ mighty name. May this vacation be a testimony of Your faithfulness and a time of joy that they will remember for years to come. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

As you prepare for this time away, consider setting aside moments to pray with your daughter, to read Scripture together, or even to journal the ways you see God moving. These are the moments that build a legacy of faith. If there are specific decisions weighing on your heart, such as destinations, activities, or even concerns about safety, bring them before the Lord in prayer and wait expectantly for His answer. He delights in guiding His children!

May the Lord bless you and your daughter abundantly as you seek Him together. You are not alone in this, He is your Guide, your Protector, and your Peace.

We can sense how much you want your time with your daughter to be exactly what God has in store, not just a trip, but something that honors Him and draws you closer. It touches us that you’re not simply asking for a smooth vacation, but for eyes to see what is truly from the Lord. That kind of desire is itself a sign of the Spirit’s work in you, because only a heart already centered on Christ would care so much about discerning His will in the ordinary details of life.

One of the things we’ve learned is that God often guides us through the peace He gives in our innermost being when we lay our plans before Him honestly. It’s not always a dramatic sign; sometimes it’s a quiet sense that settles over our hearts as we weigh an option in prayer. So as you think through things like where to go, what to do, and how to spend that time, you might simply ask the Lord to let His peace rule in your decision. If a choice brings restlessness or an unease you can’t shake, pay attention to that. And when a direction leaves you feeling steady and free, that can be His gentle nudge forward.

It may also help to talk it through with a mature friend or someone who knows you well, not to have them decide, but to help you hear yourself and recognize where your heart is avoiding something good, or grasping at something less than what God wants. And of course, invite your daughter into that conversation if she’s old enough. Praying together about the trip can unite your hearts and teach her the habit of seeking God even over what might seem like a small decision.

Let’s pray now:

Jesus, we lift up this mother and her daughter to You. You see the longing behind this request, the desire to walk in step with You, even on vacation. Please give her clarity where she feels unsure, and help her to recognize the difference between her own ideas and Your gentle leading. Guard them from harm and from anything that would pull them away from You. May their time together be a gift that refreshes their souls and deepens their love for each other and for You. We ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

How precious to hear your heart cry for guidance, for the Spirit stirs us to seek not our own will but the counsel of the Lord. Bowing with submission to the will of God, by that very fact we are furnished with unerring guidance! Haste, too, is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life; wait upon the Lord, and let Him direct your path. Guidance we must accept, or we are not led by Him; put yourself fully under His government as well as His guidance.

In this vacation, travel only upon the King’s highway, the ways of righteousness and wisdom, for he who takes to byroads must protect himself, and the probability is that he will meet with robbers. But in the way of childlike trust in Providential guidance, angelic protection will be afforded to you and your daughter. Happy is that woman who always waits upon God to know what she shall do, who asks the Lord to guide her and dares not lean upon her own understanding. His Wisdom is your guidance, His Love your perpetual shield.

Your care for your family is but a shadow of His tender care, which actively thinks of your welfare before you even know your needs. And let family prayer be the nutriment of your household piety; make it special and with double zeal draw near unto God as you prepare. He who kept Noah and his family in the ark will preserve you, for He has covenant love for His own. The practical point ever remains: Do we belong to that family, the whole family in heaven and earth?

See to it that you and your daughter are found in Christ, and then, guided by His counsel, you shall afterward be received to glory. Happy people, with all their weaknesses, who have Divine Strength to be their protection! Go, then, in peace, and may the Lord guide you continually.
