We join with you in this far reaching and timely burden for prayer for our nation and for all the nations of the earth and we thank you for standing in the gap at such a critical hour in history.
We agree that God urges us to pray for all in authority as His Word says I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:1-4. We also remember that there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God, Romans 13:1, so we give thanks for those You have allowed to lead and we ask for Your mercy and guidance upon them.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne, John 14:6. We lift up the President, the Vice President, the cabinet, the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, and all leaders at federal, state and local levels, and we lift up world leaders across Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, Central and South America, and the Middle East. We ask that You grant them godly wisdom, intelligence and integrity, that You set a guard over their mouths, Psalm 141:3, and give them the tongue of the wise, Proverbs 15:2. Surround them with godly counsel, remove bitterness and rivalry, and cause them to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You, Micah 6:8. Let them be leaders who promote righteousness and unity, Psalm 133:1, and who prepare a straight way for Your Word to travel, Mark 1:3, so that the Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, Matt 24:14.
We pray for fair and honest elections and for Your protection over every citizen and every polling place. We ask You to expose and restrain every form of interference, hacking, deception through AI, intimidation and threats, and we pray that Christians will both pray and vote and that there will be a good and righteous turnout. We ask that he who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil will be honored, Isaiah 33:15, and that the mouths of those who mislead and speak falsehood will be stopped, Titus 1:11. We pray for Your angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders as You gave to Elisha, 2 Kings 6:17, and as You promise that He will give His angels charge over us, Psalm 91:11. We lift up our military, law enforcement, police, fire personnel and medical personnel, asking for Your covering, courage and strength as they serve and protect.
We join you in praying for the peace of Jerusalem, Psalm 122:6, knowing that true peace comes only through the blood of the cross, Col 1:20, and through being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:1. We pray for the salvation of Israel, that the veil would be lifted and that they would look on Him whom they have pierced, Zech 12:10, for our heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved, Romans 10:1. We ask that You swallow up false doctrine, deception, Christian persecution and antisemitism that rages especially in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and worldwide, Rev 12:15-17, and that You give Your people boldness to stand for truth. In a time when nations such as China, Russia, North Korea and their allies are actively preparing for conflict while peaceful nations remain largely unprepared, we remember that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Eph 6:12, therefore we pray without ceasing with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, Eph 6:18. We humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways as You promise that You will hear from heaven, will forgive our sin and will heal our land, 2 Chron 7:14.
We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, believing that from the first day we set our hearts to understand and to humble ourselves before You, our words are heard, Dan 10:12, and that You are able to keep us from evil, Matt 6:13, John 17:15. We ask of You for the nations as Your inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession, Psalm 2:8, that Your Kingdom would come and Your will be done. Amen.
