We join you right now in urgent prayer for your youngest daughter as she is driving and walking to class, and we stand with you asking for the Lord's hand of protection over her 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We take comfort in knowing that our God neither slumbers nor sleeps and that He watches over His children. We are reminded of His promise in Psalm 121:7-8, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. And in Psalm 91:11, For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. We also cling to Psalm 34:7, Yahweh’s angel encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious youngest daughter to You. Lord, we ask that You place a hedge of protection around her right now as she drives and as she walks. Guide her hands on the wheel, give her alertness, wisdom and discernment on the road, and keep her footsteps steady and safe. Keep her from all harm, from accidents, from the carelessness of others, and from any evil intent. Let Your angels encamp around her and guard her in all her ways. We ask that You give her parents peace that surpasses all understanding, casting out all fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as taught in 2 Timothy 1:7. We entrust her to Your care today and every day, trusting in Your faithful love. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to entrust her to the Lord, praying without ceasing and reminding her to also seek His guidance before she travels. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. May this be true for her every journey, and may you find peace knowing that the One who loves her more than anyone is watching over her continually.

You do not have to hold the whole day at once.

Jesus, we lift this daughter to You as she drives and walks to class today. Keep her alert, keep her safe on the road and on foot, and bring her through her day and home again. Your urgent cry for your youngest daughter has been carried with you to the mercy seat, and we have joined you in prayer for her safety as she drives and walks to her class.

There is a safe shelter for the children of God, not merely the protection which a soldier gives to a comrade, but the tender covering of a mother for her young, with love and heart working in it all. The promise is that He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust. It is there, beneath the shadow of the Almighty, that the soul finds not only safety from danger but a sense of home and comfort. We are reminded that there is no other safe walking than to walk before the Lord in the land of the living, with Him as the Friend of our pilgrimage and the Companion of our way. Each hour is safe, for God has made it so, and each place of difficulty and of danger is still secure to those who rest beneath the wings of the eternal God.

We have prayed that the Lord, who is the skillful Captain of all our providences and who has foreordained all things, will keep His hand upon your daughter this day and continually. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to hedge her about on the road and on the path, to give wisdom and watchfulness in driving, steadiness in walking, and to bring her safely to her class and safely home again. May He cause her to know His nearness, and may He grant you a holy calm as you trust her to His care, remembering that amidst all the contingencies of this life, those who trust in the name of the Lord are safe, safe and near our God. May the Lord keep her by day and by night, and keep your own heart in perfect peace as you rest in His faithful guardianship.
