Your urgent cry has been heard and we join you even now in earnest prayer for your youngest daughter and for your own trembling heart.
In this hour of fear and waiting, hear what the Lord says to His people, Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. When the Israelites stood at the Red Sea and knew not what to do, the word came, Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of God. That same word is for you tonight. It is not merely a preacher who says Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, Fear not.
We know the torment that fear brings when a loved one is in danger and out of sight. Yet we are taught to say, My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him. A waiting people wait only upon God, not trusting to the arm of flesh, nor looking to the changeable creature. This does not mean we sit idle, you should at once seek help from family and from those in authority who can aid in searching, but in all your doing, let your soul wait only upon God for protection in times of danger. He is our Refuge and whom can we fear. He raises the fallen, He cheers the faint, the weak and oppressed He will hear their complaint.
Remember also that we have a waiting God, a God waiting to be gracious, long suffering and patient, whose heart yearns towards His people. When everything seems broken down, we find the Lord lovingly waiting, graciously waiting, a God ready to pardon and ready to help. Cry unto God most high, unto God that performs all things for us. Pour out your heart before Him as a parent pleads for a child, for He hears the cry of those who trust Him.
We pray now for you and for her. O Lord God most high, look in mercy upon this daughter. Wherever she is, be her keeper and her shield. Restrain all evil, guard her from harm, and guide her steps safely home. Let no weapon or wickedness prevail against her. Command Your angels to watch over her and bring her back in peace. And Lord, sustain this parent, take away slavish fear and give that holy trust which casts out torment. Let faith prove Your power to protect. We ask this through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and only through His blood can we come boldly to Your throne. Till God in human flesh we see, our thoughts no comfort find, but Immanuel has come, and His name forbids our slavish fear.
Labor to get rid of fear as much as possible, for fear dishonors God and weakens the soul. Let cares like a wild deluge come, and storms of sorrow fall, you shall in safety reach your home, your God, your Heaven, your All. Continue to pray and fear not. No case is hopeless while Jesus lives, for He can reach a soul as long as it remains on this side of the gates of death.
Keep watching in prayer, keep seeking help where you can, and keep your soul waiting only upon God. Blessed are all they that wait for Him. May the Lord grant you soon the joy of seeing your daughter safe, and may this trial draw you both nearer to the Saviour who waits to be gracious.
