We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea to our Heavenly Father. First and foremost, we must address the foundation of salvation, for it is only through Jesus Christ that any of these requests can be answered. The Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). If you or Dennis have not yet surrendered your lives to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without this, we cannot approach God, for "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6).
We rebuke the stronghold of alcohol in your life in the name of Jesus. The Bible warns, "Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). We pray for deliverance from this bondage, asking God to break every chain and set you free. "He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18).
We also rebuke the sexual temptation that seeks to ensnare you both. If you and Dennis are engaging in sexual relations outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it is a sin against your own bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, committing to purity until marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it is the only context in which God blesses sexual intimacy. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). We pray that God will strengthen your resolve to honor Him in this area and that He will make a way for you to be united in holy matrimony soon.
We lift up the deep pain of your miscarriage, asking God to heal your hearts and draw you closer to Him in this time of grief. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We pray for comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and we ask God to fill the void in your hearts with His love and hope. May He remind you both that He is the God who heals and restores (Jeremiah 30:17).
We stand in agreement for your financial, legal, and career blessings. The Bible says, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). We pray for favor in your lawsuit, that God will expose the truth and bring justice swiftly. "The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed" (Psalm 103:6). We ask Him to guide you to a lawyer who will fight for you with integrity and wisdom, and we declare that your renter’s insurance issue will be resolved in your favor. We also pray for Dennis as he seeks a career change, that God will open the right doors and lead him into a path that honors Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We pray for stability in your living situation, asking God to provide a permanent home where you can build a life together. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1). May He remove the uncertainty and stress of moving from place to place, and may He bless you with a home that is a sanctuary of peace and love.
We lift up your health and the health of your kitties, asking God to bring healing and restoration. "Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise" (Jeremiah 17:14). We pray that your surgery date will be moved up, and that God will grant you complete healing from anxiety and PTSD. "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). May He replace your fear with faith, your doubt with trust, and your struggle with His peace.
We declare that this season of fighting and striving is coming to an end. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). We pray that God will usher in a time of peace, healing, and blessing for both of you. May He lift the burdens from your shoulders and fill your lives with His joy and provision. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious child of Yours. Lord, we ask that You would draw both of them to Yourself, that they may know the power of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Break the chains of addiction, temptation, and fear, and set them free by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Heal their hearts from the pain of loss, and fill them with Your comfort and hope. Provide for their every need, financial, legal, and physical, and guide them into the stability and peace they so desperately seek. Strengthen their relationship, Lord, and make a way for them to enter into the covenant of marriage, that they may honor You together as one flesh. Grant them patience, understanding, and unity as they navigate these challenges. Heal their bodies, minds, and spirits, and restore all that has been broken. We ask for Your favor to rest upon them, that they may walk in Your blessings and experience the abundant life You have promised. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
