We lift up your urgent cry to God, pleading for His protection over you and your family in this hour of peril. Yet while we pray for your lives, your heart must not be held captive by the fear of death. Remember the word of our Lord: do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Christ has trampled down death by His own death, and for those who are in Him, to depart and be with Christ is far better than clinging to this life.

The devil threatens, but he is a defeated foe; his power is broken, for the sting of death is gone. Hold fast to this confidence: whether by life or by death, Christ will be magnified in you. We are praying without ceasing for your deliverance, but let your soul be steadfast. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Do not let the terror of murderers shake your trust; their hands can only touch the body, but your soul is safe in the hands of God. Such evils as they plot are an abomination before the Lord, and He will bring every deed into judgment. Fix your eyes on the resurrection, and you will find a peace that passes all understanding. We stand with you in prayer, knowing that nothing can separate you from the love of Christ.

The terror you are describing is exactly the kind of sudden fear the Scriptures speak to directly. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden terror. These are not just comforting words, they are promises anchored in the very character of God. The fear that has gripped your heart right now is a weapon of the enemy, meant to make you forget that your life is hidden in another place entirely.

This is the moment to distinguish between the fear that destroys and the fear that saves. The fear that saves is the reverential awe of the Lord, which is the beginning of all wisdom. To fear the Lord is to hate evil, to turn from it completely, and to make Him your total refuge. He does not ask for a mere compartment in your life. He wants the totality of your life. When your life is centered on Him and not merely on the threats around you, a wall of protection is forged that transcends physical danger. You step out of the empty, animal terror of life merely under the sun and into the real, substantial life that is in the Son. God has given us eternal life, and this life is found only in Jesus Christ. He who has the Son has this life, a life not just of endless duration, but a present quality of righteousness, peace, and joy that no murderer can touch.

Right now, you must consciously place your trust not in your own ability to escape, but in the God who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light. He is your fortress and your strength. The commandment, the way of wisdom, tends toward life. Walk in it now by refusing to let the fear of man, which is a snare, dictate your next step. Instead, put your trust wholly in the Lord and you shall be safe. All things He allows, even this stark terror, can be met by His grace and worked for a deeper good you cannot yet see. Let what remains of this temporary, shadow-like existence be swallowed up by the eternal life that is yours in Christ. Cry out to Him, not from the corner of craven fear, but from the center of a trusting heart that knows to whom it belongs. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, stand guard over your heart and mind and bring swift deliverance to you and your family.
