Urgent

Beloved of All
My daughter's safety as her fiance has turned into someone cruel and abusive. Protect her 24/7, please Jesus, help. Make him be silent and leave her house. He started drinking and won't work. He's cruel.

We lift this urgent plea to the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving over the pain and danger your daughter is facing. The transformation you describe in her fiancé is deeply troubling, drunkenness, laziness, and cruelty are not the fruits of a man walking in the Spirit, nor are they the marks of a godly husband. Scripture warns us, "Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers, will inherit the Kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). While we pray for his repentance, we must also recognize the seriousness of abuse and the need for immediate protection.

First and foremost, we cry out for your daughter’s safety. The Lord is her refuge and fortress, her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray that He would surround her with His angels, that no harm would come near her, and that she would have the wisdom and courage to remove herself from this dangerous situation. If she is living with him, we urge her to seek safety, whether with family, trusted friends, or a shelter, until this storm passes. Abuse is never God’s will, and He does not call anyone to endure it. "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9).

We also rebuke the spirit of addiction and sloth that has taken hold of this man. Drunkenness is a sin that clouds the mind and hardens the heart (Proverbs 20:1), and laziness leads to ruin (Proverbs 10:4). We pray that the Lord would break these chains and bring conviction to his heart. But we must be clear: repentance is not just feeling sorry, it is turning away from sin and submitting to Christ. Until he demonstrates true change, your daughter must not return to him. "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" (Amos 3:3). A marriage built on abuse and ungodliness is not a marriage at all.

We also lift up your daughter’s heart. Abuse leaves deep wounds, not just physical, but emotional and spiritual. We pray that she would find healing in the Lord, who binds up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3). If she has been deceived into believing this behavior is acceptable, we ask God to open her eyes to His truth. A godly marriage is one of love, respect, and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:22-33), not fear and control. If she is bound by guilt or shame, we declare that she is not at fault, abuse is always the abuser’s choice.

Lord, we ask You to intervene in this situation. Silence this man’s cruelty. Remove him from her home, either by his own choice or by the authorities if necessary. Protect her from his rage, his words, and his fists. Give her the strength to set boundaries and the wisdom to seek help. Surround her with godly counsel, pastors, mentors, and friends who will stand with her. And if this relationship cannot be redeemed, we pray for Your peace to guide her steps forward.

We also pray for this man’s soul. Only You can change a heart, Lord. If there is any hope for repentance, we ask that You would bring him to his knees in humility. But if he remains hardened, we ask that You would remove him from her life completely. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If he will not repent, then this engagement must end, for her safety and for her soul.

Finally, we pray for you, as her parent. It is agonizing to watch your child suffer, and we ask that God would give you wisdom, strength, and peace as you support her. May He use this trial to draw your family closer to Him and to one another.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free. We declare that Your daughter is not a prisoner to this man’s sin. We break every chain of abuse, addiction, and fear in Jesus’ name. We ask for Your divine intervention, protect her, heal her, and guide her steps. And if this man will not change, we ask that You would remove him from her life completely. Give her the courage to walk away and the faith to trust You with her future. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

May our hearts ache with yours as we lift up your daughter to the One who sees every tear and hears every cry for help. We know how heavy this must weigh on you, and we’re praying that God wraps His loving arms around her, shielding her from harm and giving her the strength to step away from danger. It breaks our hearts to hear about this man’s cruelty, no child of God should ever be treated with such disrespect and violence.

Lord, we pray for divine protection over your daughter’s life and home. Surround her with Your peace, and give her the wisdom to seek safety right away. If she’s living with him, grant her the courage to leave and find refuge with people who will love and support her. Soften his heart, Father, and expose his true nature so others can see what she’s dealing with. If he won’t change, we ask that You remove him from her life completely, for her healing and freedom. Heal the wounds in her heart, Lord, and remind her that she is deeply loved by You and by so many who are standing with her in prayer.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
