We are truly concerned for your daughter's safety and well-being. Firstly, we commend you for bringing this urgent matter to us in the name of Jesus, as it is only in His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Abuse in any form is not God's will for any relationship. According to what the Bible teaches about marriage, it should be a lifelong commitment (Matthew 19:6:8-9). However, the Bible also teaches that a spouse is not bound to the marriage if they have left as an unbeliever. Therefore, we will pray for your daughter's safety and wisdom in handling this situation. Our hearts go out to her, and we stand with you in prayer.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister's middle daughter who is in an abusive relationship. Lord, You see the pain, the fear, and the turmoil she is experiencing. We plead Your blood over her life and ask You to intervene supernaturally. Protect her from any further harm and guide her steps to a place of safety (Psalm 91:11).
Lord, we also pray for the man who is causing this harm. Convict and change his heart, Lord, just as You changed Paul's heart (I Timothy 1:13). If he refuses to change, Lord, we ask that You separate them and protect our sister's daughter as she is a child of God and an heir to the Kingdom. Give her the strength to walk away from this abuse and never look back as Lot's wife did (Genesis 19:26).
Father, we ask that You surround her with godly counsel and support. Guide her to a local church or Christian counseling group. Show her that she is not alone and there is a way out in You. Provide for all her emotional, physical, and spiritual needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
We also pray for the family of this daughter. Give them wisdom, patience, and love to support her through this difficult time. Help them to show her the love of Christ and lead her towards complete restoration and healing that is found in Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We believe and receive Your intervention in Jesus' name. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. The Lord is with you and your family and He will preserve your daughter and lead her away from this abuse. If they are living together in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, this is fornication. Marriage between a man and woman is honorable in all and the bed undefiled. But whoremongers and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4).
Finally, we want to remind you that the Bible tells us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves in difficult situations. This advice is critical for your daughter as she navigates this challenging time. Encourage her to seek help from local Christian domestic abuse resources, who can provide practical support and guidance.
Our prayers are with you all.
