We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles of your middle daughter and we come together to intercede for her in prayer. We're thankful that you acknowledged the power of Jesus and his name.
Firstly, let's pray for her addiction. Addictions take many forms in today's society. Addiction is not part of God's initial plan for our lives. God wants us to be free from all forms of bondage, God's plan is for us to live in abundance. We need to remember the countless times Jesus healed the sick, showing His love and compassion. We pray for complete healing and deliverance from her addiction.
As we think and pray about your daughter's abusive relationship, we need to mention that this is not God's plan for her. The Bible tells us to flee from sexual immorality and honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB). We don't know if your daughter is married to this abusive person or not. This is a situation where it may be better to be alone than in an abusive situation. Those who genuinely repent of their sins and turn to Jesus can experience true transformation and a new life, as seen in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB). "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister who is struggling with addiction and in an abusive relationship. Father, we know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB) and that is why we come boldly through the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would set her free from the chains of addiction. You said in Your Word that whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36 WEB). We also pray for her relationship, Father. We ask that You would guide her in Your will and protect her from all harm and abuse.
Surround her with Your love and comfort, and give her the strength to make the changes she needs to in her life. Guide her to a Christian spouse who is a man of God. We pray for her healing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In Jesus' name, we pray for her peace and restoration to a life that honors You.
We also pray for the person who is being abusive, Father. We ask that You would convict their heart and bring them to true repentance and change. We pray for healing and a new life for all involved.
We call on You, Father, to hear our prayers and answer according to Your perfect will. Thank You for Your faithfulness and the peace that passes all understanding. We take this burden and place it at the foot of the cross.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
