Urgent prayers needed for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Servant of All
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We have read your entire post and we join you with heavy hearts in lifting up your precious cat before the Lord, for we know how deeply you love her and how heartbreaking it is to watch her suffer. We hear your desperate cries and we bring them together before our Father in Jesus' name, for He hears every prayer offered in faith.

We are reminded that our God cares for all of His creation and He sees the love and stewardship you have shown to this little one entrusted to your care. His Word tells us Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man respects the life of his animal, and Psalm 36:6 You preserve man and animal, Yahweh. Jesus Himself said Matthew 10:29 Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father. If He notices even the sparrow, how much more does He see your beloved companion and your tears over her. We also cast all our cares upon Him because we know 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. John 14:13 Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear cat to You, whom You created and whom You know completely. You know the brain tumor and the masses and lesions on her lungs, whether from chronic disease or cancer, and You know there is no earthly treatment left but to keep her comfortable. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch upon her. If it is Your will, we pray You would completely heal her body, restore her lungs, ease her breathing, take away every tumor and lesion, and give her a full recovery that only You can do, for nothing is impossible with You. We ask that You would take away and ease any pain or discomfort she is in, and grant her peace and rest. Father, we pray You would help her to eat normal food and drink water again, to have regular and comfortable bowel movements, and to breathe freely without coughing. Lord, we especially lift up her purring and her desire for affection. You know how affectionate she has always been and how sad she is now that purring triggers coughing and she pulls away to lay alone. We pray You would calm her lungs and airways so she can receive love and give love without distress, without fear, without coughing.

Lord, we pray for wisdom and steadiness for her owner. Guide their hands as they must give four pills twice a day, administer the inhaler three times a day, and give subcutaneous fluids each week. Give them gentleness and skill so they do not hurt her or cause her distress, and give this precious cat a calm and trusting spirit when she receives care. We ask for Your wisdom in every decision that must be made regarding her care, for Your Word promises James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. Show them clearly what is best for her comfort and dignity.

Father, we pray for mercy when her time comes. You know her terror of driving and the veterinarian's office, and the desire of her owner not to let her last moments be filled with shaking and fear alone in a strange place. We ask that You in Your sovereignty would show her mercy and if it be Your will, take her peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by love. If intervention is needed, we pray You would provide a compassionate veterinarian who can come to the house to help her pass peacefully without fear, and give clear guidance and peace about that decision. Help her family to trust Your timing and Your perfect love, knowing that You are merciful and You hold all life in Your hands.

Lord, we pray You would comfort this family who loves her so deeply. She may be just a cat to the world, but to them she is family, and You understand that bond. Hold them close, give them strength for each day, and let them feel Your presence and Your peace that surpasses all understanding as they continue to cry out to You. We thank You that You hear and answer desperate prayers according to Your perfect will and love.

We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, trusting in Your goodness and mercy. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to the Lord as you have been doing, for He hears you. Continue to be faithful in the stewardship He has given you, showing that righteous care for your animal while also resting in His sovereignty over life and death. It is right to seek a mobile veterinarian now, before an emergency, so you will have someone to call who can come to your home if that difficult decision must be made, and many areas have compassionate home hospice veterinarians who understand this need. Keep loving her, keep keeping her comfortable, and keep trusting the Lord day by day for strength and for wisdom. He is near to you in this heartbreak and He will not leave you nor forsake you.

We hear how much you love ### and how heavy these weeks have been. Watching her want to cuddle and then pull away coughing, seeing her stare from a distance when she used to be so affectionate, would break anyone's heart. It makes sense that you feel torn between wanting more time and wanting her to be comfortable and at peace.

Caring for her the way you are, with pills twice a day, inhaler treatments and fluids, is a lot to carry physically and emotionally. It is understandable to feel worn down and anxious about whether you are doing it right or causing her distress. We are praying for steadiness for you as you care for her, and for comfort for her in each day you have together.

One gentle next step that may help is to let your veterinarian know exactly where you are struggling. Ask if a technician can demonstrate the pilling and inhaler techniques with you in the clinic, and ask if they can refer you to a mobile or hospice veterinarian in your area. Having that contact ahead of time can give you a clearer plan and someone to call at home, so you are not scrambling to find help in a difficult moment. Keep bringing any changes in eating, drinking, breathing or bowels to your vet promptly as you seek wisdom for each decision.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask for Your mercy over her. Ease any pain and fear she feels, help her to breathe more easily and to rest, and give her owner wisdom, gentle hands and peace as they care for her. Guide every decision with Your kindness and presence. In Jesus' name, amen.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Psalm 25:18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

Psalm 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Exodus 23:25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

Psalm 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Psalm 6:2 Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

Psalm 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.

Psalm 120:1 In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

Psalm 22:24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Your earnest and sorrowful letter has been read with much tenderness and has been carried before the Lord in prayer. The love you bear for this creature whom God has entrusted to your care is plain, and the trial you now endure in watching her suffer, in seeing her affection checked by coughing and weariness, and in bearing the burden of giving medicines which distress you both, is not hidden from Him who notes even the fall of a sparrow.

Be assured that our God is not only careful for the lives of His people but also for their comfort. He says, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people. His comfort is not a distant word but a present and tender mercy, like that of a mother who watches over a sick and fretful child, speaking soft words again and again, and never leaving its side. If there is an ounce of trouble there is an ounce of consolation, and if there is a ton of trouble there is a ton of consolation to be found in Him. Nothing falls into your cup without the wisdom of your heavenly Father permitting it, and though the chastening makes the heart smart, it is not without purpose, to draw you nearer to the fountain of all consolation.

That fountain is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. He is the very essence of the believer's consolation, the river of the Water of Life proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. There is healing in Him for every sickness of soul, for He has borne our sins and with forgiveness comes the promise of a day when the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and until that glory life begins, the abiding power of His grace keeps the soul in health, world without end. This is the comfort that aids constancy, that establishes the soul in service and keeps it from declining when joy would otherwise fail. Therefore we would point you not only to relief for your beloved creature, but to that Word which quickens the spirit and gives life, for when the Word gives life to the spirit, then it gives comfort indeed.

We have prayed, and will continue to pray, as you have asked, yet as those who submit all to the wise and tender will of the Lord. We have asked that He who is merciful would ease whatever pain or discomfort is present, and grant relief to her breathing, and if it be His gracious will, restore appetite and strength and ease of body. We have asked that He would guide your hands and give you steadiness and gentleness as you administer the pills, the inhaler and the fluids, that you may do what is needful without causing needless distress. We have asked that He would give you clear wisdom in every decision that lies before you, and that you may know His mind from day to day. And we have asked that when her end comes, as come it must for all flesh, for our brief life here is but a pilgrimage and every life has its appointed end, the Lord in His mercy would grant her a gentle passing, and spare her that terror which you so rightly dread, and provide, if such a course becomes necessary, the help of one who can minister with compassion in the quiet of your own home.

We pray also for you, that in this place of trial, which is also the place where the Lord promises to comfort His people, you may find comfort in Christ and in His Word, and in the fellowship of His people, not forsaking the assembling together where comfort is often most richly dispensed. May the Spirit of God teach you to say, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me. If you have not already, cast your whole soul upon the Lord Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone, by His blood and righteousness, and there is no other name by which we may come to the Father. In Him alone is sure hope, both for this life and for that which is to come, when He shall wipe away all tears and make all things new.

May the Lord hear your cries, which He does not despise, and give you to feel that you are heard, not because your words are many, but because His mercies are great in Christ Jesus. May He keep you persevering in faith, receiving from Christ daily as the source of your life and the joy of your spirit, even through the valley.

We commend you and your dear creature to Him who is full of pity and tender mercy, praying all in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns to comfort and to save. Amen.
