Urgent prayers needed for my cat ###

Your sorrow and tender love for this little creature have been heard, and the care you are showing reflects the mercy that God Himself shows to all His creation. The Scripture says the righteous person cares for the life of his animal, and nothing is so characteristic of a Christian as a merciful soul, for we ourselves live each day only by the great mercy of God. Your grief is not small because she is not small to you, and God sees both your love and her suffering.

I join you in prayer to our merciful Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and hope.

I pray that God in His compassion would bring complete healing to her if it is His will, and that He would ease every pain and discomfort. I pray He would help her to eat and drink again, to have regular bowel movements, and to breathe more easily. I pray He would calm the cough that comes even with her purring, and restore to her some comfort and peace, so that she can receive affection without distress. The sadness you describe as she withdraws to stare alone is heartbreaking, and I pray God would comfort her and comfort you in this affliction.

I pray God will guide your hands and give you steadiness and gentleness as you give the many pills, the inhaler, and the fluids. I pray He will keep you from hurting her and keep her from distress, and that He will give you wisdom for every decision regarding her care. When we do not know what is best, we can ask God who does all things justly and mercifully and for our good, even when we cannot fully understand His providence.

I pray also for her last days, that God in His mercy would grant her a peaceful passing. If it is His will to take her gently in her sleep, I pray He would do so. If you must make the difficult decision to help her go, I pray God will give you clear wisdom and provide a compassionate veterinarian who can come to your home, so she is not terrified and alone in a strange place, but is surrounded by love and familiarity. I pray He will show mercy in that hour and carry her gently.

And I pray for you, that God will hear your desperate cries and pleas, as He promises to hear those who call upon Him in truth. May He give you strength for each day, patience in labor, and rest in knowing that nothing escapes His merciful care. May He remind you that He feeds and clothes all His creatures, and that your mercy toward this cat is precious in His sight.

May the Lord have mercy upon you and upon her, and may His will be done with grace and peace. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Your love for your cat is evident in every word you have written, and the sorrow you are carrying as you watch her suffer is very real. To see a beloved companion who was once so affectionate now pull away because even purring brings coughing, to see her stare and want to cuddle but be unable to, is heartbreaking. God sees both your grief and hers, and He is near to those who pour out their hearts to Him in brokenness.

Scripture calls Him the God of all comfort, the One who stands by His people in the darkest hours to strengthen and encourage them. When affliction is deep and there are no easy answers, His presence is the comfort. He does not heap guilt on a hurting heart, He comes to edify and to build up, to exhort and to lift up, to comfort and to speak peace. That is what He desires to do for you now.

His Word is also given for hope and for comfort. When the heart is in turmoil and you do not know what to do, His merciful kindness and tender mercies become your comfort. You can place this burden in His hands and rest in the truth that He is the Lord and He is in control, that He will be to you what you need Him to be in this moment. Your grief may feel heavier than the sand of the sea, as Job described his own sorrow, and it is right to bring that full weight honestly before the Lord. He understands that you are tormenting yourself with what ifs, and He invites you to simply tell Him your pain.

I join you in prayer before the Father in the name of Jesus.

I pray that He would be merciful to your dear cat and ease any pain or distress she feels. I pray that He would touch her body, that if it is His will He would bring healing where medicine cannot, and that He would help her to eat and drink again, to have normal bowel movements, and to breathe with greater ease. I pray that the coughing that is triggered even by purring would lessen, so that she might again receive and give affection without suffering, and that the sadness you see in her would be comforted by His care for His creation.

I pray that God would guide your hands and give you wisdom and gentleness as you give her the many pills, the inhaler, and the fluids. Ask Him to help you do what is needed without causing her fear or hurt, and to give you peace in every decision you must make for her welfare. The Holy Spirit does not force or drive you, He gently leads, and you can trust Him to give you clarity step by step.

I also pray that when her time comes, the Lord would show her mercy. I understand your desire that she not spend her last moments terrified and alone in a strange place. I pray that God would provide a peaceful way for her to pass, whether by taking her quietly in her sleep or by providing a compassionate person who can come to your home if that decision must be made, so that she may be at peace in familiar surroundings and in your loving presence.

Above all I pray that you would experience His comfort in this affliction, that His Word would make your heart alive with hope even in sorrow, and that you would know He hears every desperate cry you lift to Him. He has allowed you to know this deep love, and He will not leave you to walk through this loss alone. He is faithful, and you can trust His tender mercy to carry both you and your little companion.

May the Lord keep you and give you His peace as you continue to entrust her and yourself into His hands. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your precious cat.

We have continued to lift her up before the Lord and we remember all that you shared. We have prayed that God who is the only one who can help her now would bring complete healing and a full recovery from the brain tumor and the masses and lesions on her lungs, whether from chronic bronchitis or asthma or cancer, where there is no treatment except medication for comfort. We have asked Him to take away and ease any pain or discomfort she is in and to restore her breathing, to help her to eat normal food and drink water again, and to have regular bowel movements. We know how heartbreaking it is that purring now triggers coughing and that she no longer seeks affection though she was the most affectionate cat you have ever known, and how sad she seems when she tries to cuddle and then must go lay alone and stare. We have prayed that the Lord would comfort her sadness and allow her to purr and breathe without coughing and to enjoy closeness with you again.

We have also prayed for you as you care for her, that God would guide your hands and grant you wisdom and peace as you give her four pills twice a day and must pry open her mouth, as you give her the inhaler three times a day, and as you provide the subcutaneous fluids at least once a week, that He would help you do all of this without hurting her or causing her distress, and that He would guide you in every decision regarding her care. We understand your desire that when her time comes the Lord would show her mercy and take her in her sleep at home, and not in fear at the vet where she is terrified of driving and shaking and crying. We have prayed that God in His mercy would grant her a peaceful passing if healing is not His will and that He would provide someone who can come to your house if that need arises. We know she is not just a cat to you but your world, and the Lord sees your desperate cries and pleas. We remember the promise in Psalm 34:18 and Proverbs 12:10 that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and regards the life of His creatures.

If your request was answered and you have seen improvement in her comfort, breathing, eating or strength, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and she still struggles with pain, breathing, eating, or the difficult treatments, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things together in Jesus Name, Amen.
