Urgent prayers for my cat ###

1 Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. We have read your entire post and our hearts are deeply moved by your love and tender care for your precious cat and by the suffering you are both enduring. We are joining you in prayer right now and we do not take lightly the pain of watching a beloved companion struggle to breathe, to eat, and to find comfort. She is not just a cat to you, she is a cherished part of your family entrusted to your care, and we know that God sees that love and He cares about what you are going through.

We take comfort that our God cares for all His creation. A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10 and we are reminded You preserve man and animal Psalm 36:6. Jesus Himself said Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will Matthew 10:29 and He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call Psalm 147:9. If He notices every sparrow, how much more does He see your tears and hear your desperate cries for your beloved cat. We also cling to the promise Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We lift her up together before the throne of grace in Jesus name, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father and it blessed our hearts to see you call upon that precious name.

Father we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift this precious cat to You. You formed her and You know every detail of her body. We ask in Your mercy that if it is Your will, You would completely heal her of this brain tumor and the masses and lesions on her lungs and restore her to full health, for nothing is impossible with You. We pray You would ease and take away any pain or discomfort she is in and grant her rest. We ask You to touch her lungs and her breathing, to calm the coughing, to allow her to purr again without distress and to once more enjoy affection and cuddling without fear. Lord we pray You would restore her appetite and thirst, that she would eat normal food and drink water again, and that You would regulate her bowel movements and heal every complication in her body. We ask You to comfort her sadness and confusion and let her feel safe and loved in her home.

Lord we also lift her beloved owner to You. Grant wisdom and steady hands as she gives the four pills twice a day and the inhaler three times a day and the subcutaneous fluids each week. Guide her hands so she does not hurt or distress her cat, and give the cat a calm and trusting spirit during these treatments. Grant wisdom for every decision that must be made regarding her care, and give clear guidance and peace about what is best. Father we pray that when her time comes, You would show her great mercy. We pray that You would spare her terror and suffering and if it is Your will take her peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her home surrounded by love. We pray You would provide a compassionate veterinarian who can come to the house if that difficult decision must be made, so she never has to spend her last moments alone and terrified. Above all we pray Your perfect will be done and that You would pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon this home.

We encourage you to continue to be the faithful steward God has called you to be. Your diligence in giving her medications and seeking to keep her comfortable is a beautiful reflection of the righteous care described in Proverbs 12:10. Keep bringing every worry to Him in prayer, trusting that He hears you. He has heard your desperate cries and pleas, and He holds both you and your precious cat in His hands. Even as you grieve and feel heartbroken watching her stare and struggle, remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and He will give you strength for each day and each task. We are praying that God will sustain you, give you rest, and surround you both with His comfort and mercy, and that whatever the outcome, you will feel His presence and know His love through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We read your whole note and we hear how heavy this is. You love her so deeply, and watching her struggle to eat, to breathe, to cuddle without coughing, and to just be herself again is heartbreaking. Of course she is your world, she is family, and it makes sense you feel torn between wanting her healed and wanting her comfortable.

It is a lot to carry, giving four pills twice a day, the inhaler, the fluids, and worrying you are causing her distress while trying to help her. Please be gentle with yourself in that. We encourage you to let your vet know exactly what you described here, how hard the pilling and inhaler have become and what you are hoping for at the end, so they can show you the least stressful ways to give the medicines and connect you with options for comfort care at home. Many areas have mobile veterinarians or hospice services who will come to your house, and your regular clinic may be able to give you a trusted referral to have on hand so you do not have to face that decision alone.

We are praying for you and for her with you.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this dear cat to You and we bring her owner who loves her so much. Please give comfort where there is pain, ease her breathing, and help with eating, drinking and rest. Give steady hands, wisdom and peace for every treatment and every decision ahead, and surround them both with Your mercy and presence whether You bring healing or a gentle passing at home. Amen.

Your letter has been read with much tenderness and every line has been weighed, for the sorrow you carry for your dear cat is not small in the sight of the Lord who notes even the sparrow's fall. To love a creature that God has placed in your keeping and to watch it suffer is a true affliction, and it is right that you should bring it before the throne of grace, for He who is Father to His people is also Lord of all His creation.

Hear what the Lord saith to such as are cast down, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. When He would comfort us He does not always do so by a distinct act of deliverance at once, but He quickens us and so He comforts us. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. There you have both the outward comfort which is the Word of God and the inward comfort which is the quickening of the Spirit, and both are needed. Comfort alone is not enough without constancy, and constancy without comfort will not suffice, therefore we pray that God would comfort your heart and establish you in every good word and work as you tend to this suffering creature.

You ask for healing where man can do no more, and we join you in asking it. The leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only His fruit but the least thing about Christ is healing. We cannot command the Lord, but we may with holy boldness lay your cat before Him who openeth His hand and satisfieth the desire of every living thing, beseeching Him if it be His will to take away these tumors and lesions, to ease the lungs, to restore easy breathing, to remove pain and discomfort, to restore appetite for food and water and to grant regular bodily functions again. We ask Him that purring, which is the sign of contentment He placed in this creature, might no longer trigger coughing, and that affection might be restored without distress or fear.

We pray also for your hands, that the Lord will guide you as you give the four pills twice a day, and the inhaler three times a day, and the subcutaneous fluids week by week. May He give you steadiness and gentleness, and may He keep the little one from terror and hurt in the receiving of these things, and give you wisdom in every decision you must make concerning her care. The Lord who restrains temptation and will not suffer you to be tried beyond what you are able will also with the trial make a way to bear it, and we ask that you may prove that promise day by day.

And concerning her last hour, we pray with you for mercy. You have spoken plainly of your desire that she should not die alone and terrified in a strange place, shaking and crying. We ask the Lord in His kindness, if healing be not His will in this life, that He would spare her fear and grant her a peaceful departure, even in her sleep if so He pleases, and that He would in His providence provide a compassionate person who can come to your house to minister to her at that time, so that she may be at home among those who love her.

Do not think your cries are unheard because they are for a cat. The Lord heareth the young ravens when they cry, and how much more will He hear the prayer of His child offered in the name of Jesus. Yet remember that our deepest comfort is not in the creature but in the Word which quickens us. Cast your burden upon the Lord and be much in prayer, for it is little prayer that brings us down and great prayer that lifts us up.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God and Father, Thou hast made all things and Thou sustainest them, and not one creature is forgotten before Thee. Look in mercy upon this afflicted cat and upon Thy servants who love her and who have no help but in Thee. If it be Thy will, lay Thy healing hand upon her, remove the tumor and the masses and lesions, ease her breathing, take away pain, restore to her food and drink and sound rest and joyful affection. Guide the hands that must give medicine and treatment, give skill and calmness and tenderness, and let no distress be added to her suffering. Grant wisdom for every choice that must be made, and in Thine own time and way show mercy in her departing, that fear may be taken away and she may be at peace in the place she knows and loves. Above all quicken and comfort the hearts of those who watch and wait, by Thy Word and by Thy Spirit, and establish them to trust Thy goodness whether Thou givest or takest away. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth and in whom alone is our hope. Amen.
