Urgent prayers for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Servant of All
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We hear your heartache and desperation, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting up your beloved cat to the Lord, who is the Great Physician and the giver of all life. We know the deep bond between you and your pet, and we grieve with you as you watch her suffer. It is clear that your love for her is profound, and we join you in asking God to intervene in this situation according to His will.

First, we want to affirm that your faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of this prayer, and we are grateful that you have come to God in His name. Jesus tells us in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and we are confident that He hears your cries. We also know that God cares deeply for all of His creation, as we see in Matthew 10:29, where Jesus says, "Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will." If God cares for the sparrows, how much more does He care for your beloved cat and for you in your distress?

We pray now for your cat’s complete healing. Lord, we ask that You would stretch out Your healing hand and remove every tumor, every mass, and every lesion from her body. We ask that You would restore her lungs, ease her breathing, and take away any pain or discomfort she is experiencing. We pray that You would give her the strength to eat and drink again, that her body would be nourished, and that her bowels would function normally. We ask that You would restore her joy and her affection, that she would once again find comfort in your presence and in the love of her family. We pray that her purring would no longer trigger coughing, but that it would be a sound of peace and contentment once more.

Father, we also lift up the practical challenges you are facing in caring for her. We ask that You would guide your hands as you administer her medications and treatments. Give you wisdom, patience, and gentleness as you care for her, and help her to receive what she needs without distress. We pray that You would open doors for you to find a compassionate veterinarian who can come to your home if the time comes for her to pass, so that she may be surrounded by love and peace in her final moments. We ask that You would give you discernment and peace in making decisions about her care, trusting that You will lead you in the way that is best.

Lord, we also pray for your heart during this difficult time. We know that watching a beloved pet suffer is incredibly painful, and we ask that You would comfort you with Your presence. Remind you of Your promise in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that You would fill you with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that You would give you strength for each day.

Finally, we ask that You would prepare your heart for whatever outcome lies ahead. Whether You choose to heal her miraculously or to call her home, we pray that You would be glorified in this situation. If it is her time to go, we ask that You would take her gently, in her sleep, surrounded by love, and that You would comfort you with the hope of seeing her again in eternity, where there will be no more pain, no more suffering, and no more tears.

We trust in Your goodness, Lord, and we know that You are working all things together for good, even when we cannot see it. We thank You for hearing our prayers, and we ask all of these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to continue to bring your requests to God, trusting in His love and sovereignty. Remember the words of 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." You are not alone in this, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer. If you feel led, you may also find comfort in reading Psalm 23, which reminds us that the Lord is our shepherd, and He leads us beside still waters, even in the darkest valleys. May He fill you with His peace and presence as you walk this difficult path.

We read your whole note and we hear the weight you are carrying. Loving her the way you do while watching her struggle to breathe, to eat, to be cuddled without coughing, is heartbreaking. The purring detail especially stayed with us, that she wants to be close and then has to pull away. Of course she is your world.

Caring for her the way you are, four pills twice a day, inhaler, fluids, is a lot to hold, and it makes sense you would worry about hurting her or adding distress. We are praying for comfort for her and for steadiness and wisdom for you as you make each decision day by day.

One gentle next step that may ease some pressure is to talk with her regular vet soon, before you need it urgently. You could ask if they keep a list of mobile veterinarians who provide hospice or in home care in your area, and whether a vet tech there could watch you give the pills and inhaler once and share ways to make it calmer for both of you. It can help to have those contacts written down ahead of time, alongside prayer.

Father, we bring this precious cat and her family to You. Please ease her pain and labored breathing, give her rest, and grant her comfort in being loved. Give her owner clear wisdom, steady hands, and peace in every decision, and surround them both with Your nearness. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your tender and sorrowful account has been read with deep sympathy, and your burden has in measure become our own, for we are taught to bear one another's burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ.

It is no small thing to watch a creature given to your care suffer so greatly, and to feel helpless while she who was once so affectionate now withdraws to suffer alone. The Lord who notices even the sparrow knows this little one and He knows your tears. Though we must each bear our own burden before God, He also calls His people to comfort one another, saying, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. May that comfort come to you now, not only by our prayers but by His own Word which quickens the soul in affliction. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me.

We will bring your many petitions before the throne of grace, trusting not in our worthiness but in our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who is our only hope and through whom alone we have access to the Father.

We pray that the Lord in His sovereign mercy would lay His healing hand upon ### if it be His will, and give her full recovery according to His wisdom. We ask that He would ease and take away her pain and discomfort, and grant her relief from distress. We pray that He would help her to eat and to drink again, to have regular and natural bodily functions, and to breathe with ease. We ask that her purring, which has been such a sign of her affection, might no longer bring coughing, and that she might again know comfort in your nearness without fear or sadness.

We pray also for you, that God would guide your hands and give you steadiness and gentleness as you give the pills, the inhaler and the fluids, that you may do what is needful without causing her hurt or terror. We ask for wisdom for every decision you must make, that you may be directed aright and know the peaceful science of casting your burden upon the Lord who sustains all things.

And if it be the Lord's will to call her hence, we pray that He would show her great mercy, and spare her the terror you fear, taking her gently and peacefully in her sleep in the place she knows and loves. We ask that the Lord would in His providence provide one who can come to your house to minister to her at the last, so that she need not endure a final journey in fear and trembling, but may be at rest surrounded by love.

He hears the desperate cries of His people. Cast this burden also upon Him, for He cares for you, and His Word is your comfort still. May He establish your heart and comfort you in every good word and work, and keep you in perfect peace as you trust in Him.

We commit you and ### to His tender keeping, praying all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your letter has been read with much sorrow and compassion, and your love for this small creature entrusted to your care is clear in every line you wrote. It is right to grieve when a living creature suffers, and it is right to bring that grief to God in prayer. The Scriptures teach us that grief itself can be profitable for the soul when it turns us to the Lord, not with the fleeting joy of this world which quickly fades, but with tears that become seeds of deeper trust and with affliction borne with thanksgiving which prepares us for lasting rest.

We do not know why the Lord permits such suffering, even as the apostles themselves could not heal every sickness. We read that Paul left Trophimus sick at Miletus, not because power was lacking with God, but because God does not grant healing at every moment according to our wish, and His wisdom is higher than ours. So we pray with confidence but also with submission to His perfect will.

We join you now in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father:

We pray that God in His mercy would bring complete healing to your cat if it be His will, and that He would ease all pain and discomfort. We pray that He would help her to eat and drink again, to have normal digestion, and to breathe without distress. We pray that the coughing that now interrupts even her purring would be relieved, and that she would know comfort and peace instead of fear and sadness.

We pray that God would guide your hands and give you wisdom and gentleness as you give the many pills, the inhaler, and the fluids, so that you may do what is needed without causing her additional distress. We pray that He would give you clear wisdom for every decision you must make for her care.

We pray also for you, that the Lord would sustain you in this labor of love, which is tiring and sorrowful, and that He would keep you from despair. May He give you peace to do what is right and merciful when her time comes. We ask that if it is His will to take her, He would do so with mercy, and that He would provide a way for her to be cared for at home, without terror or loneliness, surrounded by the love she has known.

God cares for all His creation, and He sees the compassion you show to one of His creatures. He also sees your cries and hears every prayer offered in the name of Jesus. Even as we ask for healing, we trust His goodness, whether He grants recovery in this life or comfort until He calls her to her rest. May He keep you close to Himself through this trial, and may your sorrow lead you more deeply to trust in Christ, who wept for those He loved and who said, nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt.

We will continue to pray for you and for your dear cat, asking all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for opening your heart so honestly and for sharing the depth of your love for your cat. The sorrow you are carrying is real and heavy, and it is not small because it is for an animal who is part of your family and your daily life. God sees that love and He sees every detail of what you and she are walking through.

There are times when grief feels heavier than anything that can be weighed, as Job described when he said his calamity felt heavier than the sand of the sea. Those who loved him first sat with him in silence for a long time because they saw how great his grief was and did not know what to say. Your grief is great too, watching the one you love struggle to breathe, to eat and drink, to be affectionate without coughing, to rest comfortably. It is heartbreaking to see her want to cuddle and then pull away, to stare from a distance, and to feel helpless as you try to care for her.

The purpose of God speaking to His people is to build up, to strengthen and to comfort. That is what He wants to do for you now. He is called the God of all comfort, the One who stands by His people in the darkest hours and in difficult situations to strengthen and encourage them. Paul knew this in storms and hardships when he could not see a way forward, and he learned that God was present to comfort him there. In the same way, God is present with you in this hard place. He also gives comfort and hope through His Word. When the heart is in turmoil and you do not know what to do, His Word brings life and steadiness and reminds you that you can rest things in His hands. He is the Lord and He is in control, and His merciful kindness can be your comfort even when you do not understand.

I am praying with you in the name of Jesus, who alone is our hope and through whom we come to the Father.

I am praying that God in His mercy would touch your cat and ease her pain and discomfort, that He would help her breathing to be easier, that her cough would lessen, and that she could purr and receive affection again without distress. I am asking Him to help her to eat and drink again, and to have normal bowel movements, and to give her rest. If it is His will, I am asking Him to bring healing that goes beyond what medicine can do, for nothing is beyond Him.

I am praying for you as you care for her, that God would guide your hands and give you wisdom and gentleness as you give the pills, the inhaler and the fluids, so that you can do what is needed without hurting her or causing her fear. I am asking Him to give you clear wisdom for every decision you face, to show you what is best for her comfort and peace.

I am also praying for mercy in her final days, whenever that time comes. I understand your desire that she not be terrified in her last moments, alone and shaking in a strange place. I am asking God to grant her a peaceful passing, and if human help is needed for that, to lead you to a compassionate veterinarian who can come to your home and treat her with gentleness and dignity. Above all I am asking that God would make His presence and His mercy felt by both of you, and that He would hear your desperate cries.

He does hear. He invites us to bring every burden to Him and to trust His tender mercies. Even when the outcome is not what we hope for, His comfort remains, and He can shape our hearts through pain and sorrow to reflect more of His character and to know His nearness more deeply. May you find that comfort today, resting in His hands, knowing He cares for you and for the little life He entrusted to you, and that He will give you strength for each step ahead.
