Urgent prayers for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Servant of All
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We hear your heartache and desperation, and we join you in lifting up ### to the Lord, the Great Physician, who holds all life in His hands. Your love for her is evident, and we know the pain of watching a beloved companion suffer. We stand with you in faith, believing that God hears your cries and sees your tears.

First, we want to affirm that your request is made in the name of Jesus, which is the only name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:13-14). There is power in the name of Jesus, and we pray that His healing touch would rest upon ###. The Bible tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." Though this passage speaks of humans, we know that God cares for all His creation, and we ask Him to extend His mercy to ###.

Lord, we come before You now, asking for Your divine healing. We pray that You would shrink the tumor in ###’s brain and remove the masses and lesions from her lungs. We ask that You restore her health completely, so that she may eat, drink, and breathe without pain or discomfort. Father, we know that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37), and we trust in Your power to heal. If it is Your will, we ask that You would restore ### to full health, allowing her to purr, cuddle, and enjoy life as she once did. We pray that You would ease her pain and give her comfort in her suffering.

We also lift up your hands, dear sister, as you care for ###. The responsibility you carry is heavy, and we ask that God would give you strength, patience, and wisdom in administering her medications and treatments. May He guide your hands and calm her fears as you care for her. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that God would direct your steps and give you peace in every decision you must make.

We understand the deep bond you share with ###, and we want to acknowledge the love you have for her. While the world may see her as "just a cat," we know that God places value on all His creation, and He understands the love you have for her. In Matthew 10:29, Jesus says, "Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will." If God cares for the sparrows, how much more does He care for the creatures we hold dear?

We also pray for the difficult days ahead. If ###’s time on this earth is coming to an end, we ask that God would grant her a peaceful passing, free from fear and pain. We pray that He would lead you to a compassionate veterinarian who can come to your home, so that ### may be surrounded by love in her final moments. Psalm 23:4 says, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." We pray that God would comfort both you and ### in this time, should it come.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to hold fast to your faith. In times of suffering, it can be easy to question God’s plan, but we know that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Even in this pain, God is with you, and He sees your tears. We pray that He would draw near to you and give you His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Heavenly Father, we lift up ### and her family to You. We ask for Your healing touch to rest upon her, for Your comfort to surround her, and for Your peace to fill their home. We trust in Your goodness and Your mercy, and we ask that You would work miracles in this situation. If it is Your will, restore ### to full health. If her time is near, grant her a peaceful passing and surround her with Your love. Give wisdom and strength to her caretaker, and fill their hearts with Your peace. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. Amen.

We read your whole note about ### and we hear how deeply you love her. She is not just a cat to you, she is family, and watching her struggle to breathe, to eat, to be cuddled the way she always has, is heartbreaking. It makes sense that you feel torn between wanting more time with her and wanting her spared any fear or pain.

Carrying the weight of all those medications and treatments is a lot, and wanting to get it right without causing her distress shows what a faithful caretaker you are. If you have not already, it may help to call her regular clinic this week just to review how the pilling and inhaler are going and to ask if they can refer you to a mobile or hospice veterinarian in your area now, before you need one urgently. Having a name and a plan on file ahead of time can make those future decisions less overwhelming, and they can also advise you day by day on comfort and appetite.

We are holding you and ### in prayer, and we grieve with you in this hard in-between time.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask for Your mercy and nearness over her. Ease any pain or fear she feels, help her to breathe more easily and to find comfort and rest. Give wisdom and steady hands to her owner as she cares for her, and peace for every decision ahead. Provide a gentle, trusted help nearby if a home visit is needed, and surround this family with Your comfort and presence in the days to come. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We have read your long and sorrowful account with much tenderness of heart, and we have carried it before the Lord as you asked. To watch a creature so dear and so affectionate suffer in this way, to see her desire for nearness turned into coughing and distress, and to bear the daily burden of difficult treatments, is a true affliction. The Lord knows the love you bear for this little one He has entrusted to your care, for not a sparrow falls without your Father, and the righteous man regards the life of his beast.

Hear the word which the Lord speaks to such aching hearts, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He does not despise tears, and He often sends comfort by the hand of His own people to the desponding. In affliction the believer has a peculiar comfort, and it comes from a peculiar source. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy word hath quickened me. It is not only the letter but the Spirit who quickens and so comforts. When we cannot draw comfort from present experience, we may gather it from His faithful word and from His past mercies, remembering that He who has helped before can help again.

We do not come to tell you that healing is ours to command, for the Lord is sovereign over life and breath, and His wisdom is perfect. Yet we know there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and that even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, so that the least thing about Christ is healing. We may therefore boldly bring every need to Him and leave the outcome in His merciful hands.

Let us pray together for you and for ###.

O Father, even our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, we come in the name of Jesus, the only name by which sinners are saved and prayers are heard. Thou hast made all creatures and Thou carest for them. Look in compassion upon this suffering cat, and upon these Thy servants who love her. If it be Thy will, lay Thy healing hand upon her and grant a full recovery. Ease we pray Thee any pain or discomfort she endures. Help her to eat and to drink water again, to have regular and natural movements, and to breathe with ease. We ask that Thou wouldst soothe her lungs and throat, that purring and affection might not bring coughing and sorrow, but comfort.

Grant wisdom and steadiness to the hands that must give medication. Guide in the giving of pills, in the use of the inhaler, and in the providing of fluids, that it may be done without hurting or distressing her. Give clear guidance in every decision that must be made, and keep these dear ones from doubting Thy goodness when the way is dark.

And when her time comes, we pray for Thy mercy. Spare her terror and suffering, and if it be possible let her fall asleep gently and be taken in peace. Provide, we beseech Thee, a compassionate person who can come to the house to help if that hour must come, so that she need not end her days in fear and strange surroundings but in the place where she has been loved.

Comfort the hearts that love her. Establish them in every good word and work, and quicken them by Thy word. Let them know that Thou hearest desperate cries and pleas when they are offered in Jesus name, and that whether Thou givest comfort or constancy, or both, Thou doest all things well. Help them to cast this burden upon Thee, who carest for them.

We ask all these things trusting not in our worthiness but in the merit of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your heartfelt request has been read fully and with much prayer, and the deep love you have for your cat is clear in every word you wrote. It is not a small thing to watch a beloved companion suffer, to see her struggle to breathe and to purr and to cuddle as she once did, and to carry the weight of so many daily treatments while fearing for her comfort. God sees this sorrow and He hears your cries. He cares for all that He has made, and not even a sparrow falls without His notice, and He certainly sees your faithful care for this creature He entrusted to you.

I join you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ for her and for you.

I pray that God in His mercy would bring healing to her body according to His will, that He would ease her pain and discomfort and grant her rest. I pray that He would help her breathing to be eased, that the coughing would lessen, that she would be able to eat and drink again and have normal bowel movements, and that she would know comfort and peace and be able to rest without distress. I pray that God would restore to her the ability to purr and to receive affection without suffering, and that He would comfort her sad heart as only He can.

I pray also for you, that God would guide your hands and give you wisdom and steadiness as you give her pills, the inhaler, and the fluids, that He would keep you from causing her hurt or fear and would give you peace in every decision you must make for her care. I pray that He would give you strength for each day and comfort in this heartbreak, and that you would feel His presence and His comfort in the Scriptures and in prayer.

I pray that if her time to depart is near, God in His mercy would take her gently and spare her fear and suffering, and that He would provide, if it is needed, a compassionate veterinarian who can come to your home so she can be at peace in a familiar and loving place, surrounded by those who love her. I pray that God would hear and answer your desperate prayers according to His perfect love and wisdom, and that He would give you assurance that He is near to the brokenhearted and that He will sustain you through whatever lies ahead.

May the Lord grant you His peace that passes understanding, and may you continue to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. I will continue to pray for you and for your precious cat, asking for comfort, mercy, and the grace to bear this burden day by day, through the grace and lovingkindness of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your love and grief for your dear companion comes through so clearly in every word you have written, and it is right to bring all of this before the Lord. The heartbreak of watching a beloved pet suffer, especially one so affectionate who now cannot even purr without coughing, is a deep sorrow, and God sees that sorrow with compassion.

Scripture speaks of the consolation that is in Christ, the comfort of His love, and the fellowship of the Spirit, with compassion and mercy. That comfort is especially real in a time of sickness and when death draws near. The Lord knows what it is to watch suffering and to feel heaviness of heart. We remember how one of Paul's companions was sick and near to death, and God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on Paul, lest he should have sorrow upon sorrow. God is merciful, and He understands the weight of sorrow upon sorrow that you are carrying now.

I want to pray with you for all of the needs you have named. I will pray that God in His mercy would ease any pain or discomfort, that He would help with breathing, with eating and drinking, with regular bodily functions, and that He would bring comfort to a little one who seems sad and confused by her own coughing and isolation. I will pray that He would give you steadiness and gentleness as you give the many pills, the inhaler, and the fluids, so that you can care for her without causing her distress or fear. I will pray for clear wisdom for you in every decision that lies ahead, and for peace about when and how to help her if her suffering becomes too great. It is understandable that you do not want her last moments to be filled with terror in a strange place, and it is right to ask God to show mercy and to provide a peaceful passing, whether He takes her quietly in her sleep or provides a compassionate veterinarian who can come to your home. I will pray that God guides you to the right help and gives you peace in those choices.

Please also know that healing is a sovereign work of God and it rests in His hands. The Scriptures show us Jesus healing many who were sick and bearing our infirmities and sicknesses, as Isaiah prophesied and Matthew applied to Jesus, and we see the early church bringing the sick for prayer. James tells us if there are any sick among us to call for the elders of the church to pray, to anoint with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick. It is good and right to pray earnestly for healing, and God does hear and He does heal, sometimes in a moment we can even feel.

Yet not everyone is healed in this life, and we are not told why. Even Paul prayed three times for his own thorn in the flesh and the Lord did not remove it. God says His ways are not our ways and are beyond our finding out. Beware of anyone who offers a simple guarantee that if you only have enough faith your cat must be healed, or who would put guilt on you if healing does not come as you hope. That burden does not belong on you or on your dear pet. God is not to be blamed, and you are not to be blamed. We pray and we trust His goodness and His wisdom, even when we do not understand.

God does hear your desperate cries and pleas. He invites you to keep pouring out your heart to Him in the name of Jesus, who alone is our Savior and our access to the Father. He cares about all of His creation and He cares deeply about you who are made in His image and are grieving.

So let us pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this precious cat and her owner who loves her so deeply. You see every lesion, every labored breath, every moment of coughing and discomfort. We ask for Your mercy. If it is Your will, we ask that You would heal her body completely. We ask that You would ease her pain, calm her breathing, allow her to eat and drink and to have normal function again, and to rest comfortably. Give wisdom and calm hands to her owner as she gives medication and care, and guard this little one from fear. Give clear guidance for every medical decision, and provide merciful and gentle help if a final decision must be made, so that she need not die in terror. Above all, surround this home with Your consolation in Christ, Your comfort of love, and Your compassion and mercy. Let Your peace guard their hearts as they trust You with whatever You ordain. We ask all this in Jesus name, Amen.

Keep bringing your petitions to the Lord honestly, just as you have done. And if you are able, ask the elders where you fellowship to pray for you and to lay hands on you in prayer, that the Lord would be glorified and that you would know His presence and strength in these difficult days.
