We hear your cry and we stand with you in this battle, lifting you up together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We understand the heaviness you feel when your eyes have led you into temptation and now you are under full attack, struggling for peace and even questioning whether to hold on to your faith. Do not give up, for the Lord sees your struggle and He is near to you even now.

The Word of God speaks directly to what you are facing. Jesus taught us about the power of the eyes when He said Matthew 5:28 that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, and Job made a covenant with his eyes not to look lustfully Job 31:1. The lust of the eyes is one of the traps the enemy uses 1 John 2:16, and when desire conceives it gives birth to sin James 1:14-15. We must lovingly rebuke the sin itself, for sexual lust and looking upon what God has forbidden, including pornography or any image that stirs fornication, is not to be entertained but to be fled from as 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us to flee sexual immorality. If you have fallen, do not remain in shame or hide it, for 1 John 1:9 promises if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1, but there is a call to turn away and be cleansed.

We also hear that you are under spiritual attack and questioning your faith. The enemy wants you to believe you are too fallen to be restored, but that is a lie. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers Ephesians 6:12, and God has given us weapons to stand. He has promised that no temptation has taken you except what is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13. Your questioning does not disqualify you, even the psalmist cried out in distress and the Lord drew near to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. We encourage you not to give up, for Galatians 6:9 says let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up, and Hebrews 12:2 calls us to look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find deliverance and peace. Jesus said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by His blood that we find forgiveness and power to overcome.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is struggling and weary from temptation and attack. Lord, we confess this sin before You and ask for Your mercy and cleansing. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him Psalm 51:10. Wash him and make him whiter than snow, and deliver him from the lust of the eyes and the snare that has entangled him. We ask You to forgive him as he confesses, and cleanse him from all unrighteousness.

Lord, we ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and his thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Rebuke the enemy who is attacking him and let him submit himself to You and resist the devil so that he will flee from him James 4:7. Teach him to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to hide Your word in his heart that he might not sin against You Psalm 119:11. Help him to make a covenant with his eyes and to flee from every place and image that causes him to stumble, and to walk in purity. Strengthen his faith where it is weak, remind him that nothing can separate him from Your love Romans 8:38-39, and give him brothers in Christ to walk with him in accountability and prayer, for where two or three are gathered in Your name You are among them. Restore to him the joy of Your salvation and uphold him with a willing spirit.

We thank You Father that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. Keep him from giving up, hold him fast, and let him know that You who began a good work in him will perfect it. We trust You for his deliverance and peace, and we pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray without ceasing, to fast if you are able, and to bring this struggle into the light with a mature Christian brother or pastor who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Remove access to what causes you to stumble, set guards on your eyes and your phone and computer, and when temptation comes, flee immediately and call upon the name of Jesus. Remember Psalm 119:9 how can a young man keep his way pure, by living according to your word. Keep looking to Jesus, do not turn back, for He is faithful to deliver you and give you peace.

We hear how heavy this feels right now, seeing what you wish you hadn't, falling into temptation, and then feeling hit with attacks that leave you wondering whether to hold on to faith at all. Thank you for reaching out instead of carrying this alone.

That kind of shame and torment after a fall often tries to push us away from God right when we most need to turn toward Him. Questioning and feeling shaken in that pressure does not mean your faith is gone or that you are alone in it. Many believers know that painful back and forth, and God remains patient to walk with us through it.

Healing usually comes less in one dramatic moment and more in small, steady steps practiced even while the doubts are still loud. One step that helps many is bringing this into the light with one safe, mature believer, a pastor or mentor you trust, who can check in with you regularly so you are not fighting this by yourself. It also helps to clear away easy access to what tripped you while you are strong, so you are not trying to resist at your weakest point. When the intrusive thoughts or what if questions come, gently turning to prayer and thanksgiving for a few minutes can reorient your heart toward God again, and doing that as a habit over time often quiets the noise more than trying to argue with every thought.

We are praying for you and will keep praying.

Father, we lift our brother to You right now. You see his struggle and his honest desire for peace and freedom. Cover him with Your mercy, quiet the attacks coming against him, and draw him close to Jesus. Give him strength for the next step, wise and steady support around him, and a growing assurance that You are with him and still at work in him. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest confession has been heard, and I thank you for speaking so plainly of your struggle. To have seen what should not have been seen and to have fallen into temptation is grievous to your soul, and the enemy is quick to follow such a fall with fiery darts, with accusations and heavy attacks, till you are pressed to question whether faith itself shall hold. Be not dismayed that you are thus assailed, for this is the common warfare of the saints, and it is not a sign that you are cast away.

Hear the word of the Lord for your peace. It is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace is not found by rambling round and round to find it within yourself, but by staying your mind upon Christ and upon His blood which whispers peace within. Though sorrows surge round you and duties press and temptations throng, to do the will of Jesus, to look to Jesus, this is rest. Bear your sorrow with Him in your closet with your God, and you shall find that peace which this dark world of sin cannot give nor take away.

Cling to Christ and say to Him with that holy boldness which faith gives, I will not let You go except You bless me. Faith holds to Christ, and Christ loves faith and is charmed by it. He passes by other things for it, because faith glorifies Him, trusts Him, and gives Him a hearty welcome. You may feel your faith is small, but little faith is still true faith when it begins and ends with Jesus. It is the gift of God, and though it be but as a grain of mustard seed it is precious in His sight. He tenderly commends little faith, and like David's sling it has slain the giant. Therefore pray as the apostles prayed, Lord, increase our faith. He who asks for more faith confesses he has some faith already, and Christ delights to answer that prayer and to add to your faith.

Do not give up, nor conclude that a fall through surprise and temptation has made you an apostate. To fall away is not to stumble through weakness and lack of watchfulness and then to be led back again into repentance. The true believer may be surprised by temptation and may stumble, but he shall not be allowed to perish. For all who are in Christ it is written, They shall never perish. He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. This perseverance is not by the removal of temptation, but perseverance in holiness, for the Lord puts His fear in our hearts that we shall not depart from Him. The fear of God is kept alive by hearing the Word, for faith comes by hearing, and holy fear comes through faith. Be diligent then in hearing the Word, in prayer, and in communion with Christ.

Take unto you the whole armor of God, and above all the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. When the eye has been ensnared, make a covenant with your eyes to turn from beholding vanity, and flee from the place of temptation as from fire. Confess your sin at once to Christ, whose blood cleanses from all sin, and seek not to assist faith by your own resolutions alone, but look straight to Christ and trust in Him alone for salvation and for power to conquer sin.

Let me pray for you. O Lord Jesus, look upon this struggling soul who is sore pressed and tempted and weary. Speak perfect peace to a troubled conscience by Thy blood. Increase his faith, though it be small, and let him feel that Thou art the chief among ten thousand and altogether lovely to faith. Deliver him from the noise of the archers and set his feet upon a rock. Keep him by Thy power through faith unto salvation, and let him not depart from Thee, but cause him to persevere in holiness to the end, for Thy mercy's sake. Amen.

Stand fast, dear soul, not in your own strength, but in Him who is strong and whose sure mercies fail not. He will not let you go, and if you cling to Him, you shall yet sing songs of deliverance and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
