Thank you for sharing so honestly about the fear and stress you are carrying as you face losing your health insurance. It is understandable to feel anxious when something so important for your health and stability feels uncertain, and it is good that you have been turning to God and asking for prayer.
One of the things Scripture teaches is that fear grows when we forget the Lord, and fear fades when we remember Him. David wrote that even when he walked through the valley of death he would not fear evil because God was with him. That same truth is for you. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. When fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed out, and fear often pushes us to make hurried or unwise decisions. When faith and confidence in God are strengthened, fear loses its hold. Remembering who God is, His greatness, His power, His nearness, and His care for you, is the cure for that churning anxiety.
The Bible says the reverent awe of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. It is not a phobia or a shaking dread, but a deep respect and awe that comes from meditating on who God is. That kind of reverence is described as the starting place and also the sum total of true understanding. To revere the Lord in this way is to love what He loves and to hate what He hates, to turn away from evil and to seek what pleases Him. Proverbs connects that attitude with health to the body and strength to the bones, and with the promise that the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. There is also the promise that those who live in reverent awe of Him will not lack what they truly need. Even young lions that are strong can go hungry, but God watches over and provides for those who trust Him.
In the midst of a storm, the apostle Paul told frightened people to be of good cheer, not because the wind had stopped, but because God had given a promise and God keeps His promises. He also showed a very practical faith. He urged everyone to eat for their health and then he took bread and gave thanks to God right in front of them all, not embarrassed to pray. You can do the same. Keep bringing your need to God openly and with thanksgiving, and also take the wise and practical steps that are available to you, making calls, asking questions, seeking help and counsel, doing what is prudent while refusing to be driven by panic. God can protect and provide for you right where you are.
It is also important to remember that physical health and provision are not a simple measure of spirituality. The apostle John wrote to a friend that he prayed he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul was prospering. That was a warm, loving prayer and wish for a friend, not a guarantee that every faithful person will always have perfect health or perfect circumstances. Some of the most faithful people walk through deep health problems, and we do not always understand why God allows what He does, for His ways are not our ways. That does not mean He has forgotten you or that your faith has failed. It means you can trust His character even when you cannot trace His path.
May God give you peace that steadies your heart, wisdom for each decision you need to make, and clear provision in the days ahead.
I pray for you now. Father, You see this need and the fear that has come with it. You know every detail about health and insurance and the deadline that is pressing. I ask that You would calm this heart with the assurance of Your presence, that fear would be replaced with trust as You are remembered and revered. Give wisdom for every practical step, open doors for provision where they are needed, and keep this dear one in Your care. Let Your peace guard heart and mind through Jesus Christ. Amen.
