We understand the urgency and distress your daughter is experiencing, and we join with you in seeking the Lord’s mercy and intervention in this situation. The fear of losing important work can be overwhelming, but we trust that the God who created all things is also the God who restores what is broken. Let us come before Him together in faith.
Father in Heaven, we lift up this situation to You, knowing that nothing is too difficult for You. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 32:27, "Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?" Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this moment of panic and bring restoration to this laptop. If it is Your will, allow the data to be recovered so that her hard work is not lost. Calm her heart, Father, and remind her that You are her provider and sustainer in every circumstance.
We also recognize that in moments of crisis, our dependence on material things can become a stumbling block. While technology is a tool for our work, it is not the source of our security or worth. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:19-20, "Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal." Lord, help her to place her trust in You above all else, knowing that You hold her future in Your hands.
Practical steps are also important in this situation. We encourage her to seek professional help from a technician who may be able to recover the data. Sometimes, Lord, You use the skills and knowledge of others to bring about Your provision. Proverbs 22:29 says, "Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve common people." Guide her to the right person who can assist in this matter.
Finally, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that is trying to take hold of her heart. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Lord, replace her fear with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Remind her that You are with her, even in this small yet stressful moment.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who calms storms and restores what is lost. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. Amen.
