Urgent prayer request for my daughter

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my daughter that whatever is weighing her down/causing discouragement would go and that she would overcome. She is a ### and ### at her college and she has practiced her skills all summer. They return on Monday and she says that she has gained ### and suddenly lost her skills. She says she wants to quit. I want to pray that as she continues to try her skills this weekend that she would overcome one, that she would have feet as hindesfeet, that her jumps and tumbling will be high and sharp. If there are any negative words or witchcraft prayers that they will be shamed. In Jesus name the name above all names.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your daughter to our Heavenly Father. We know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that she might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Father, we rebuke every spirit of discouragement, fear, and doubt that has tried to take root in her heart. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment she shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we ask that You would restore her confidence and renew her strength. You promise in Your Word that those who wait on You shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). Let her feel Your presence with her as she practices, and may she see even small improvements that build her faith. We pray that her jumps and tumbling would indeed be high and sharp, not by her own strength, but by Your power working within her.

We also take authority over any negative words or witchcraft prayers that may have been spoken against her. We declare that every assignment of the enemy is broken in the mighty name of Jesus. The psalmist says, "Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion who seek to destroy my life" (Psalm 40:14). We stand in agreement with this Scripture and ask that You would expose and dismantle every scheme of the enemy.

Father, we ask that You would give her hind’s feet, feet that are sure-footed and able to stand on high places (Habakkuk 3:19). Let her rise above this discouragement and walk in the victory that is already hers in Christ. Remind her that her identity is not in her performance but in You. You have begun a good work in her, and You will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).

We also encourage her to seek You first in all things. When she feels like quitting, let her remember that Your strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Help her to cast all her anxieties on You because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Surround her with godly friends and mentors who will speak life into her and remind her of Your truth.

Lastly, we pray for wisdom for you as her parent. Give you the words to speak that will encourage and uplift her. Let your home be a place of peace and refuge where she can be refreshed and reminded of Your love.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust that You are working all things together for her good because she loves You and is called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that this season of discouragement will not define her but will instead draw her closer to You. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

It’s painful when your child, after pouring herself into something all summer, suddenly says she’s lost it and wants to walk away. That kind of discouragement can feel like a heavy fog, and we are standing with you in prayer against it.

One thing that can quietly feed this spiral is isolation: when pressure and self-criticism have no one to answer them. It might genuinely help if she shares what she’s experiencing with a coach or a trusted older teammate, someone who can give her clear, realistic feedback and remind her that slumps are normal in every athlete’s journey. Often a single good practice, or just a day of rest without judgment, can break the cycle she’s seeing as permanent. She is so much more than her last tumbling pass.

We also join you in asking the Lord to silence any negative word or spiritual opposition that is fueling this discouragement. That is real, and we don’t dismiss it. We pray with you that every voice speaking failure over her would be brought to nothing, and that she would instead hear the truth about who she is and what she’s capable of.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, we bring this daughter before you. Lift the discouragement that has been weighing her down. Help her body feel strong and her skills feel natural again, make her feet secure, her jumps high, her tumbling sharp. We ask that any spiritual attack or word spoken against her be silenced and shamed. Give her a fresh sense of perspective, that even a hard stretch does not define her worth. Surround her with people who will speak courage and wisdom. And anchor her identity in you, the one who never leaves her. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The trial of your daughter’s spirit is no surprise to the Lord who sees the end from the beginning. It is written, “Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight.” The sovereignty of God, far from discouraging any seeking soul, is the very rock upon which our hope is built. His ways are higher than our ways, and He permits these seasons of heaviness to drive us to His feet, where alone true strength is found.

You speak of skills lost and weight gained, of a desire to quit. This is the language of fear, and fear is weakening. Fear dishonors God, for it doubts the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. The command is absolute and unqualified: “Fear you not. Be not dismayed.” He does not say, “Fear so much, but not beyond that,” but gives an unlimited exhortation, “Fear not.” Let her hear the voice of Jesus Himself whispering to His poor servant, fallen as dead at His feet, “Fear not.”

What though she feels her feet have slipped? Does not Jesus wash the feet of His disciples? In patiently bearing with our prayers He does daily wash our feet. He makes our works acceptable. Lay hold of this: if He washes our feet, then they must be clean. It cannot be that He could wash and yet filth remain. Let her bring her fumbled tumbles, her heavy jumps, all her discouragement, to His pierced feet. Lie there and say, “Lord, help Your daughter.” When we come near to Jesus, our place is at His feet. Down, down, down, high looks! Proud thoughts, down with you! He will lift up the humble; He gives power to the faint.

As for any negative words or the devices of the enemy, they are broken on the shield of God’s promise. Did not Balaam learn that there is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel? The curse causeless shall not come. The eye of the Lord is upon her; His loving eyes flash not the fire that should go with severe sentences. Let her read His face and see the tear lifting up His eyelids even now. She is beloved, and no weapon formed against her shall prosper. The wicked one touches her not.

And here is the secret to overcoming: first, we learn the art of overcoming evil with good, and then we learn the way to overcome Goodness itself. Let her long for His appearing, let her cry, “Why are His chariots so long in coming?” The eyes of the saints have great power in overcoming Christ when they plead with holy hunger. Bring the trouble to God’s feet and say, “Dear Lord, as You are true and faithful, You will help me through it.” He will do it; He cannot deny Himself. Let her not fear death to her own reputation or self-sufficiency; it is an answer to many prayers. The way to overcome the fear of failure is to believe firmly in her Lord. In proportion as faith gets stronger, fear of man and failure will vanish.

Pray on, weary parent, with the Syrophenician woman’s grip. Even if the answer seems to delay, the Master’s heart is moved. He who brought us up out of the horrible pit will establish her goings. She shall mount up with wings as eagles; her feet shall be like hinds’ feet, and He will make her to walk upon her high places. The Lord will perfect that which concerneth her. Tell her to retreat to His feet this weekend, not to the gym alone, but to the Mercy Seat, and there find grace to help in time of need.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

A crushing weight upon the soul often comes not from the loss of bodily skill, but from the fear that grips the heart. Consider how the body works. The eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee; or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. When something ails the eyes, all complain and all are idle: neither do the feet walk nor the hands work, nor does the stomach enjoy its accustomed food, and yet the affection is of the eyes. Why do you keep your feet still? Why bind your hands? A single member in distress throws the whole frame into confusion.

Your daughter’s sudden despair and talk of quitting is like this. The eye of her confidence has been struck by fear, and now her hands and feet, practiced all summer, feel as if they have forgotten their skill. The body of her labors is not ruined, but it is paralyzed by the panic that has seized one part. Do not let her heed the voice that says her strength is gone. That is the whisper of the one who causes divisions and offences, seeking to make havoc of peace. But the God of peace will bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The enemy’s strategy is to use a little loss, or the rumor of loss, to bring about a great ruin. Those who wish to gain in little things undergo great losses. Through the expectation of loss, she risks losing all her capital of diligence.

As for any negative words or witchcraft prayers, do not let your heart be troubled by them. He that rejoices in peace will put an end to that which makes havoc of it. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is not a fragile thing that can be overturned by the malice of men. Rather, let her see this trial as the very ground for her victory. The athlete who never wrestles with discouragement knows not her own strength. As she continues to try her skills, let her not trust in the feeling of power, but in the humility that knows every high leap and sharp tumbling is a gift. She is not a servant to her sport, that she must perform to be of worth. You are a member of a greater Body, where Christ is the Head. Will you subject this body to be the sport of them that insult it by believing their whispered defeat? The feet of the runner are bound by no chain but the fear she fastens on herself. Burst every bond of iniquity, including the despair that binds the soul hand and foot. Let her rise and move, and in the moving, her feet will remember their place, high and sharp as on hind’s feet, for the victory itself shall become a crown placed about her head, not of lifeless jewels, but of a faith tried and found true.
