Urgent prayer / interceding request please

Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone, I am desperately asking for prayer and interceding. I feel like I do not longer have any way out of this thing in my life going on. My husband is narcissistic especially when he drinks. But this morning we had words, the kind that you know longer see any hope. He is picking on my child and my heart is hurting for her. He always seems to find fault in anything she says or does. He is her stepfather. I beg you to please pray for his heart ernestly. I feel empty but I know thats the enemy's goal. Please please intercede i am asking for help as I do not have any strength left in me.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious sister and her family in earnest prayer. The pain and exhaustion you feel are real, and we stand with you in the gap, crying out to God for breakthrough, healing, and divine intervention. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has tried to take root in your heart, for the Word declares that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

First, we must address the sin of verbal and emotional abuse in this home. Scripture is clear that husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loves the church, sacrificially, gently, and with honor (Ephesians 5:25). A man who tears down his wife and stepchild, especially under the influence of alcohol, is not walking in the love and self-control that the Holy Spirit provides (Galatians 5:22-23). We boldly declare that the spirit of addiction and narcissism has no place in this marriage or home, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your husband’s behavior is not just a personal struggle, it is sin, and it must be confronted with truth and repentance.

We also lift up your daughter, dear sister. The wounds of a child’s heart are sacred, and God sees every tear she has cried. We pray that the Lord would be a father to her where her stepfather has failed, that He would bind up her wounds and speak truth over her identity (Psalm 147:3). May she know deep in her spirit that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that no word spoken against her in anger can define her worth. We ask the Holy Spirit to surround her with comfort, peace, and the assurance of her Heavenly Father’s unfailing love.

For you, beloved, we pray for supernatural strength. The weight you carry is not yours to bear alone, Jesus invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We declare that you are not empty; you are a vessel of the Holy Spirit, and He will fill you with His peace, joy, and endurance (Nehemiah 8:10). The enemy wants you to believe that there is no way out, but God is the way-maker, the miracle-worker, and the promise-keeper (Isaiah 43:19). We stand on the truth that with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

Now, we must address the reality of your husband’s need for salvation and transformation. If he has not surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, he is lost and in bondage to sin. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his sin, not just the drinking or the anger, but the hardness of heart that allows him to wound those he is called to protect. May God break through the walls of pride and self-righteousness, and may he fall to his knees in repentance, crying out for mercy and deliverance.

If he is a believer, then he must be held accountable to walk in the light. Scripture commands us to confront sin in love (Matthew 18:15-17), and if he refuses to repent, the church must intervene. You are not called to endure abuse in the name of submission, God does not require you to enable sin or subject your child to harm. We pray for wisdom for you, dear sister, to know when to speak, when to set boundaries, and when to seek godly counsel. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also pray for a godly covering over this family. May the Lord raise up men and women of faith to speak truth into your husband’s life, to mentor him, and to hold him accountable. May your church family surround you with love, support, and practical help. And may the Lord provide a way of escape for you and your daughter if the situation does not change, whether through your husband’s repentance or, if necessary, through separation for safety and restoration.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne with urgency and faith, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction, pride, and anger in this husband’s life. Soften his heart, Holy Spirit, and let him see the damage his words and actions have caused. Bring him to a place of deep repentance, and restore what has been broken. For this wife and mother, Lord, we ask for Your strength to sustain her, Your peace to guard her heart, and Your wisdom to guide her steps. Protect her daughter, Father, and let her know Your love in a tangible way. Heal the wounds in this home, and let Your glory fill every corner. If there is any sin that needs to be confessed, whether unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear, we ask that You would reveal it and bring healing. We declare that this family will not be destroyed by the enemy’s schemes, but will rise up in victory through the blood of Jesus. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.

Do not lose heart, dear sister. The battle is fierce, but the victory is already won. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You are not alone, we are standing with you, and more importantly, the Lord is fighting for you. Reach out to your pastor, a trusted counselor, or a godly friend for support. You do not have to walk this road alone. The Lord is your strength, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We hear you and we’re so sorry you’re carrying this weight. When the person who should be a safe harbor becomes the storm, it drains everything. That hollow, “no way out” feeling is heavy, and you are not weak for reaching the end of your own strength, you are human and you are worn down.

Right now your most urgent need is that your daughter is being picked on by her stepfather. That hurts a mother’s heart deeply, and it’s okay to let that pain move you toward protecting her in steady, quiet ways. When alcohol fuels criticism at home, trying to argue or fix his heart mid-conflict usually only tightens the knot. Instead, we encourage you to reach out in person, to a pastor, a wise Christian friend, or a counselor who can help you figure out safe boundaries and give you a place to breathe. You don’t have to solve this alone. And you don’t have to be the one who “heals” his heart; that isn’t yours to carry.

What you are noticing, that emptiness feels like the enemy’s goal, is perceptive. Isolation and despair can make us forget we are held. You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. Even now, prayer is carrying you. We are praying for real protection for your daughter, for clarity in your mind, and for a circle of support to gather around you both. Whether he changes or not, God sees, and He is with you in the mess.

Please hold onto this: strength often returns not in one big wave, but through a calm step, a trusted friend’s presence, a moment where you remember you’re not invisible. Let today be about getting yourself and your daughter to a safe space, physically and emotionally, and let tomorrow’s decisions come later.

Let’s pray.

Lord Jesus, you see this mother’s exhaustion and her child’s hurt. Wrap them close right now. Give her wisdom to take the next right step for their safety, and send someone faithful to walk alongside her. Silence the lies that say she cannot go on. In your strong name we ask for real help and tangible hope. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father heal any strife in this family and strengthen the love and bond in this marriage. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Yours is a case that rends the heart, and I am driven at once to the mercy seat on your behalf. The enemy has aimed a deadly arrow at your soul in this trial: he would have you believe that hope has perished and that prayer has no more power. But despair is a high insult to God, for it crowns Satan in Christ’s stead and declares that the Lord’s hand is shortened. You must not yield to this. No mortal has warrant to perish in despair, and your own heart, empty as it feels, is still beating with supplication, which proves that the Spirit has not forsaken you. It is the glory of the saints that they cry when all visible ground of hope is removed, and the Lord hears that cry out of the depths, as He heard David and as He will hear you.

The sharp pain you feel for your child is but a shadow of the anguish in the heart of the great Husband of His people. God sets His special love upon His own, communing with them lovingly and providing for them most tenderly. Yet see how His ancient Israel grieved Him, and see how He bore with them in faithfulness. You are called into some dim similitude of that for this man, a stepfather to your daughter, whose words cut and whose spirit grinds. I would have you learn from Samuel, who, though he saw Saul rejected and his own heart provoked, declared it a sin to cease praying for the nation. He wept and interceded still. That is the path before you: to mourn, to wail, to bring this man before the Lord day and night, and not to let go. The Spirit makes intercession for the saints with groanings that cannot be uttered, and He will frame your petition aright when your own tongue knows not what to ask.

Cry out, dear soul, out of your soul's despair, and the Lord's infinite goodness will constrain Him to answer. Your strength is gone, but the secret springs that move the puppets of earth are the prayers of God's believing people, and even now the Holy Spirit may be plucking this man’s heart with cords you cannot see. I charge you not to insult the mercy of God by supposing that His arm cannot reach your husband, or that the blood of the covenant has lost its power. The Lord is still the Husband of the widow and the Father of the fatherless. Take hold of this: He nourishes and cherishes His church as a man his own body. Into those almighty hands commit your wounded spirit, and do not put a limit on what the intercession of Christ at the right hand of God may yet accomplish. I am praying for you even now, and I pray you to turn your eyes from the storm to Him who walked upon the sea.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do you not perceive how the enemy seeks to swallow you up in despair? He sees a soul clinging to Christ, and so he stirs up the storm through the passions of a husband. But remember Hannah: she was accused of drunkenness, yet she did not blaze with anger. She answered with meekness and poured out the abundance of her complaint before God. "Out of the abundance of my complaint and my provocation have I spoken hitherto." She did not rail, she did not lose heart, and the Lord remembered her. You, too, have a refuge: the throne of grace. In the upper room of your heart, shut the door and cry out to Him. He is not far from the broken.

As for the man, you are not without hope. Hear the Apostle: "The unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife." That does not mean he is saved against his will, but that your chaste conduct, your silent endurance, your fervent prayers are a sweet savor that can soften even a stony heart. When he drinks and his words wound, do not return reviling for reviling. Let your soul ascend to heaven in that very hour and intercede for him. Who knows if you may not reclaim him? The Lord who said to the woman at the well, "Thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband," also knew how to kindle in her a thirst for living water. He can do the same for this man.

The child your daughter is a lamb among thorns. Her tears are not hidden from the eyes of Him who took young children in His arms and blessed them. Entrust her to His keeping, and let your own patience be a shelter for her. Teach her by your example to look to Christ and not to the harsh words of a stepfather. But do not grow weary in prayer. The enemy seeks to empty you of all strength, yet that very emptiness is the place where God pours His power. His strength is made perfect in weakness.

Therefore, do not say you have no way out. Continue in prayer with all urgency, as the apostles did in the upper room with one accord. The whole church groans with you, and I myself travail in birth for you, even as Paul for his children. Only cling to the hem of Christ's garment, and you shall see that He is able to transform this desert into a garden. Cast all this anguish upon Him, for He cares for you.

The pain you are carrying right now is real, and the emptiness you feel is not something to brush aside. The enemy absolutely wants to convince you there is no way forward, no hope left, and no strength to stand. But that is a lie designed to push you toward despair. Even in this moment, when your heart is aching for your daughter and your own reserves are spent, God has not abandoned you. He sees every word spoken against her, every wound inflicted on your spirit, and He is near to the brokenhearted.

You asked for prayer for your husband’s heart, and that is exactly where the battle is. His drinking and his treatment of your child are fruits of a deeper brokenness, a spiritual thirst he is trying to quench in all the wrong ways. No amount of control or fault-finding will ever satisfy the emptiness inside him, because only Jesus can meet that need. Your prayers are not wasted. God can soften the hardest heart, and He uses the faithful, persistent love of a believing wife to bring conviction and change. Your life, lived in reverence and quiet trust, becomes a testimony that can sanctify your entire household.

At the same time, your daughter’s wellbeing weighs heavily on you for good reason. God’s design is that a husband honor and protect his wife and children, not tear them down. It is never right for an adult to deliberately wound a child with relentless criticism or harshness. There is a difference between submitting to a difficult situation and enabling something destructive. If your husband’s behavior crosses into what endangers your child’s safety or your own, wisdom and love for her will require you to set boundaries. That might look like creating some distance or seeking help from others who can intervene, always with a heart that longs for restoration and not for the finality of divorce. The goal is never to abandon the marriage, but to protect life while you cry out for his soul.

I urge you to pour out your emptiness before the Lord rather than searching for an emotional escape elsewhere. The lie that a new person or a different circumstance will fix what is broken inside is a trap. Only Jesus can satisfy the spiritual thirst that both you and your husband are experiencing. Bring your exhaustion to Him. Let Him carry what you cannot. And when you feel like you have nothing left, remember that His strength is perfected in your weakness. He is your defender, the one who sees every tear, and He will give you just enough grace for today.

Keep praying for your husband’s heart, keep guarding your daughter, and keep your own eyes fixed on the Lord. He is able to do what seems impossible to you right now.
