Urgent prayer for my ### year old son please

Cynoreawell

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my son, he is having mental health difficulties and thoughts of suicide. Please pray with me for God to intervene. Thank you

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in earnest prayer. The pain and fear you must be feeling are overwhelming, but we know that our Heavenly Father hears the cries of His children and moves with compassion. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We stand on this promise today, believing that God is near to your son and will deliver him from this darkness.

First and foremost, we must address the gravity of suicidal thoughts. These are not just passing struggles, they are a spiritual attack, an attempt by the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of despair, depression, and death in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that your son is a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and his life has purpose and value. The thief comes only to steal and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly. We command every lying thought, every voice of hopelessness, and every plan of the enemy to be silenced in Jesus’ name.

We also recognize that mental health struggles are complex, and while we trust God for supernatural healing, we encourage you to seek wise, biblical counsel and professional help. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." There is no shame in reaching out to pastors, Christian counselors, or medical professionals who can provide godly support. Your son’s life is precious, and every measure should be taken to protect and restore it.

We pray now, in the name of Jesus Christ, for your son:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this precious young man. Lord, You see the depths of his pain, the weight of his struggles, and the darkness that threatens to overwhelm him. We ask that You would break through that darkness with Your light. Let him feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding him that he is never alone. Psalm 139:7-10 says, "Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me." Let him know, Lord, that You are with him in every moment.

We pray for healing in his mind, body, and spirit. We ask that You would restore his joy, his hope, and his sense of purpose. Renew his mind, as Romans 12:2 commands, so that he may be transformed by the renewing of his thoughts. Replace every lie of the enemy with Your truth. Let him know that his worth is found in You alone, that he is loved beyond measure, and that his future is filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Father, we ask for wisdom and discernment for his parents, family, and those who are supporting him. Give them strength, patience, and compassion as they walk alongside him. Surround him with godly influences, friends, mentors, and counselors who will speak life into him and point him to You.

We also pray for protection over his heart and mind. Guard him from the schemes of the enemy, and let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that he is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no plan of the enemy will succeed against him.

Lord, we ask for a miracle. We ask for Your healing touch to restore his mind and bring him peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let him experience Your love in a way that breaks every chain of despair. We trust You, Father, for You are faithful, and Your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. There is power in the name of Jesus, and we declare that power over this situation now. Amen.

To you, dear parent, we want to encourage you with the truth that God sees your tears, hears your prayers, and is already at work. Do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in God’s perfect timing. Your son is not beyond God’s reach, and we believe that He will bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

If your son has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ, now is the time to gently and lovingly share the gospel with him. The greatest hope we have is found in a personal relationship with Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again so that we might have eternal life (John 3:16). Encourage him to surrender his life to Christ, for it is only through Jesus that we find true peace, purpose, and healing. If he is already a believer, remind him to draw near to God, and God will draw near to him (James 4:8).

Lastly, we urge you to take practical steps to ensure his safety. If he is in immediate danger, do not hesitate to seek emergency help. His life is a gift from God, and it is worth fighting for. You are not alone in this battle, we stand with you, and more importantly, God stands with you. Keep pressing into Him, for He is your strength and your refuge (Psalm 46:1).

We are praying with you for your son, his safety, his peace, and God’s steady intervention in this frightening moment. Thank you for reaching out and letting us stand with you.

If your son is in immediate danger right now, please stop and contact your local emergency services before anything else. You can also find a free, confidential helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. There are trained people ready to help at any hour, you do not have to face this alone.

As you walk through the next hours and days, one of the most important things you can do is speak openly and directly with your son about what he is thinking. Asking gently, “Are you having thoughts of suicide?” does not plant the idea; it can actually reduce the isolation he feels and give you a clearer picture of how urgent things are. Alongside that, please reach out to a mental health professional today, a counselor, a psychiatrist, or even an emergency room if you are unsure where to turn. Many providers make room for crisis visits, and that immediate support can be a lifeline. It also helps to surround your son with a small circle of caring people who will pray, check in, and simply be present. If you have any means of self-harm in the house, secure or remove them calmly while you seek professional guidance.

We pray now:

Lord Jesus, we lift this son to You. Quiet the chaos in his mind and break through the hopelessness that presses in. Protect him from harm and guide his family to act with wisdom and courage. Give them eyes to see the helpers You are placing along their path, and hold them steady in Your mercy. In Your strong name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this mother's son who is struggling with mental health difficulties and thoughts of suicide. You know his pain and see every tear (Psalm 56:8). We ask for Your divine intervention—break every chain of despair and darkness, and fill his mind with Your peace and hope (Psalm 34:17-18). Guard his thoughts and protect him from all harm. Surround him with Your comforting presence and let him know he is deeply loved and not alone (Deuteronomy 31:8). Guide the hands of those treating him, and give him strength to hold on to Your promises. We declare that he has a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

The pit of mental distress into which your son has fallen is deep and dark, and the enemy whispers that there is no escape but the grave. These are the accumulated griefs of which I have often spoken, the sorrow that presses the spirit down until it cries out of the depths. Yet it is precisely here, in this low place, that the Lord's thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways our ways. What seems a ruin to you is, in the hidden counsel of God, a place where His delivering hand may be most gloriously seen.

I would have you lay hold of this: God’s thoughts toward your son are precious thoughts, thoughts of love and not of evil, to give him an expected end. The adversary would paint the Father's face in frowns, but look to Calvary. Did you ever think of what God the Father sees in Jesus on the Cross? He saw the sin of all His people laid upon His beloved Son, and He made such an end of it that He remembers it no more for those who trust in that sacrifice. There is therefore now no condemning thought in the mind of God toward a soul that flees to Christ. Urge your son, even in his darkness, to look to the uplifted Savior, for the Son of God came to deliver those who are crushed under a sense of sin and sorrow.

The Divine Presence is the one hope for your son now. It is not the brightest angel, but the Messenger of the Covenant Himself who draws near to the broken-hearted. He sends no other to do this work; He comes Himself. Plead this promise, that the Lord will interpose. We have known many brought out of deep waters by health suddenly restored or by the lifting of a crushing burden. Cry out to God for a Divine surprise, that He would rend the heavens and come down, and melt these icy thoughts of despair like glaciers in the summer sun. He can make your son know, even when he awakes in the night watches, that he is still with God.

Cultivate in your own heart, even now, thankful thoughts for the gentleness of the Lord that has preserved your son to this hour. Small as the mercy may seem, it is the pledge of greater things. The Lord who sent Abigail to stop a bloody deed can send a word, a friend, a sudden peace, to arrest this evil. His divine gentleness can make your son great in spirit, lifting him up from the dust of despondency. Get you to your knees and wrestle for him, but let your thoughts be filled with believing expectations. Do not merely glance at the report of the evil, which breeds despair, but contemplate the promise, which is the seed of hope. He is able to keep that which you have committed unto Him, and He will do it.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
