Beloved of All
I am praying with you and bringing your urgent request before the Lord Jesus, asking Him to hear and to help according to His mercy and wisdom.
I join you in praying for your husband's safe arrival and for the appointment with the doctor that you may go together. I ask the Lord to give traveling mercies, to calm any anxiety, and to give the doctor clear wisdom and care as you both seek help. Above all I pray that the Lord's will be done and that you will know His peace and presence whatever the outcome, for He hears the prayers offered in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to God and salvation.
Your desire to face this need together as husband and wife honors God's design for marriage. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant in which a man and a woman are bound to one another as long as both shall live, and that in that covenant each belongs to the other in love and care. The husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church, giving himself for her and showing her that she is loved supremely and securely, and the wife is called to respect and support her husband as unto the Lord. When those two callings are lived out, each makes it easier for the other, and the home becomes a place of mutual honor, protection, and prayer. God also teaches that neither should withhold themselves from the other except by mutual agreement for a time, and that neither should depart lightly, but should seek reconciliation and faithfulness, for even in a difficult marriage the believing spouse can be a sanctifying influence in the home.
May the Lord strengthen that bond between you in this season of need. May He help your husband to show his love with gentleness and steadiness, and help you to feel secure in that love. May He help you both to honor one another, to bear one another's burdens, and to seek Him together.
Father, in the name of Jesus I lift this wife and her husband to You. You see their need and their hope to meet with the doctor together. I ask that You would make a way for them to be together for this visit if it is Your will, guard his journey, and grant them favor and clarity with those who provide care. Give the doctor understanding to discern what is needed. Give this couple unity, patience, and trust in You. Draw them both closer to Christ, and let their marriage reflect Your faithfulness. Grant healing and help as You see best, and above all let Your name be glorified in their lives. Amen.
