Disciple of Prayer
Hi everyone 🤍 I wanted to share another update and ask for continued prayer.

For those who may not know the story, I have known this girl for about 8 years. Over the last couple of years our feelings grew and around 7 to 8 months ago it became something deeper. I am a Christian and she is a Muslim and we live in different countries. Earlier this year when I went back home we spent a lot of time together and it was very special. In mid February she ended things because she could not see a future for us due to our different faiths.

Since then this has been one of the hardest seasons of my life. I have been overthinking a lot, feeling low, and crying more than I ever have before. But through all of this I have also been praying more and trying to stay close to God.

I want to be honest. I still love her deeply and I still want her back if it is God’s will. At the same time I am trying to surrender everything to God and trust whatever He decides. I keep asking Him for clarity in my mind because I do not want to be led by emotions or confusion.

I am still praying for her and her family every day. Not only because I love her, but because I truly want them to know God, to be guided by Him, and to receive His salvation no matter what happens between us.

Recently I started reselling clothes and ordered my first lot of vintage shirts. Out of 20 shirts, one of them had Philippians 4:6 written on the back. I mean what are the chances. I am constantly getting reminded to keep on praying for them through various means

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Out of all the shirts that was the one verse. It is exactly what I have been struggling with. Anxiety, overthinking, and learning how to pray while trying to surrender. It really felt like a personal reminder from God about how to handle this season.

Please continue to pray for me
• for clarity and a peaceful mind
• for strength to keep trusting God and not lose faith
• for her and her family, that God would guide them and lead them to salvation
• and for me to keep bringing my heart honestly to God in prayer

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support 🤍

We hear your heart, brother, and we stand with you in this season of deep longing and surrender. Your honesty about the struggle between love and trust in God’s will is a testament to your faith—one that is being refined in the fire of trial. The Lord sees your tears, your prayers, and your desire to honor Him even when the path is unclear. That Philippians 4:6 shirt was no coincidence; it was a tender reminder from our Father that He is near, that He hears, and that He is working even when we cannot see it.

First, we must address the foundation of this situation with biblical truth. The relationship you describe, while born of genuine affection, was never aligned with God’s design for marriage. Scripture is clear that believers are not to be "unequally yoked" with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). This is not merely about differing opinions or cultures, but about the very foundation of faith—one built on Christ and the other on a different god. The pain you feel now is real, but it is also a mercy from God, sparing you from a union that would have led to spiritual conflict and division in the home. We do not say this to wound you further, but to free you from false hope. The Lord’s "no" is often His protection in disguise.

We also want to gently rebuke the lingering hope of reconciliation as it stands. Your love for her is beautiful, but it must be submitted to God’s higher purpose. Praying for her salvation is holy and right, but praying for her *return* as a spouse is not in line with Scripture. The Lord may yet use your testimony to draw her to Christ, but you must release the outcome to Him. Clinging to the idea of a future together will only prolong your healing and distract you from the new thing God wants to do in your life. Isaiah 43:18-19 says, *"Don’t remember the former things, and don’t consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."*

Your struggle with anxiety and overthinking is understandable, but we must also address it with truth. Philippians 4:6-7 is your weapon: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* The enemy wants to keep you trapped in "what ifs" and "if onlys," but God calls you to fix your eyes on Him. Every time your mind drifts to her, redirect it to Scripture, worship, or intercession for her salvation. Replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s Word.

We also want to encourage you in your surrender. The fact that you are wrestling with this in prayer, rather than taking matters into your own hands, is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work in you. Surrender is not a one-time act but a daily, sometimes moment-by-moment, choice. When the grief feels overwhelming, cry out to Jesus. He is the only one who can truly comfort you, for He Himself was a "man of sorrows, acquainted with grief" (Isaiah 53:3). Let His nearness be your strength.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, yet full of faith in Your goodness and sovereignty. Lord, we lift up our brother who is walking through this valley of heartbreak and uncertainty. You see every tear he has shed, every prayer he has prayed, and every moment he has chosen to trust You despite the pain. We ask that You would meet him in this place of surrender and fill him with Your perfect peace.

Father, we pray for clarity to flood his mind. Remove the fog of confusion and help him to see this situation through Your eyes. Give him the strength to release his desires into Your hands, trusting that Your plans for him are good, even when they are painful. We declare that he will not be led by his emotions, but by Your Spirit, who guides him into all truth.

Lord, we also pray for the salvation of this young woman and her family. You are the God who softens hearts and opens blind eyes. We ask that You would send laborers into her life—people who will share the gospel with boldness and love. Let her see the emptiness of a life without Christ and the fullness of life in You. Break down every barrier that keeps her from knowing You, and let her encounter Your grace in a powerful way.

We rebuke the spirit of anxiety and overthinking that has tried to take root in his mind. We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Fill him with Your joy, even in this season of grief, and remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted.

Father, we ask that You would begin to heal his heart. Show him that his identity is not found in this relationship, but in You alone. Reveal to him the new thing You are doing in his life, and give him the courage to walk into it. Surround him with godly community—men who will speak life into him, pray with him, and hold him accountable as he pursues holiness and Your will.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would continue to draw him closer to You. Let this season of pain be a catalyst for deeper intimacy with You. Teach him to pray without ceasing, to worship in the midst of sorrow, and to trust You with every detail of his life. May he emerge from this trial stronger in faith, more compassionate toward others, and fully surrendered to Your will.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every other name, the One who holds all things together and who is making all things new. Amen.

Brother, we want to leave you with this encouragement: God is not done with you. The pain you feel now is not the end of your story. The Lord is using this season to prepare you for the future He has planned—a future that includes a godly spouse, a marriage that honors Him, and a life that reflects His glory. Do not despise this time of waiting. It is not wasted. Every prayer you pray, every tear you shed, and every act of surrender is being used to shape you into the man God created you to be.

Continue to seek Him with your whole heart. Spend time in His Word, not just for comfort, but for direction. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you through the Scriptures and guide your steps. And when the enemy whispers lies—*"She was the one," "You’ll never love again," "God doesn’t care about your pain"*—counter those lies with the truth of God’s Word. You are deeply loved. You are not forgotten. And your best days are not behind you; they are ahead, in Christ.

We are standing with you, praying with you, and believing with you for God’s perfect will to be done. You are not alone.

Dear friend,

We're right here with you, feeling the weight of your heartache. It's okay to hurt, to question, to feel lost. God sees you, He hears you, and He's walking through this with you. Remember, even in the darkest nights, He's still there, guiding you with a gentle, steady hand.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face, even when it's hard. Keep praying, even when it feels like you're talking to a wall. Keep trusting, even when your heart feels like it's breaking into a million pieces. God is faithful, and He won't let you down.

We also want to remind you of the truth in Philippians 4:6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Trust that God is working even when you can't see it. Trust that He has a plan, and it's a good one.

Keep praying for her and her family. God can use your love and prayers to draw them to Him. But remember, the outcome is in God's hands, not yours. Trust Him with that too.

And finally, friend, take care of yourself. Grief is hard work, and it's okay to rest, to heal, to find joy in the little things. God is with you, every step of the way.

We're praying for you, believing with you, and standing with you. You're not alone. Keep going, one step at a time. God's got this.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
