Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for trusting us with what is on your heart even though you have left it unspoken. God knows the details fully. He is not far away or hard to reach. He is at hand wherever you are, and He sees and hears you completely. You do not need to be in a special place to meet with Him. You are in His presence now, and you can bring this need to Him directly through Jesus Christ.
Jesus invites everyone who is weary and weighed down to come to Him for rest. What He asks us to carry is gentle and light. Often the heaviest weights we feel are not what He has laid on us at all. We place them on ourselves by trying to please ourselves, by seeking approval from others, or by carrying expectations that God never gave us. To live trying to satisfy self is a heavy and tiring burden. To live to please God is lighter and more satisfying, because that is what you were created for, to know Him and to live for His glory. When you learn of Jesus, you learn what the Father is truly like, a God of love and compassion who cares deeply for you.
If what you are carrying feels crushing and you are straining under it, it is a sign to pause and ask whether it is truly from the Lord. The Lord does not lay a crushing weight on His children and then call it His burden. You can lay down what He never asked you to carry and take up what He does give, which brings rest to your soul.
Like David, you can say in times of fear, I will put my trust in God and in His Word. That is how burdens are lifted. Scripture tells us to cast our burden on the Lord and He will sustain us. When you turn the matter over into His hands and trust Him to work, He gives strength and perspective that you do not have on your own. Trust is often tested most when you do not understand what God is doing or why He allows certain things, but He is still for you. If God is for you, nothing can ultimately stand against you.
We are praying for you now. We ask the Father to draw you closer to Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have salvation and access to God. We ask that He show you clearly what is from Him and what is not, that He lift the weight you were never meant to carry, and that He give you rest and clarity in its place. We pray that your life would be centered on pleasing Him, which is the most joyful and satisfying way to live, and that He would work in this unspoken situation according to His perfect will and His Word. We pray He will shape your desires and decisions to align with His design for good, including His design for marriage and for purity, and that you would find peace in trusting His wisdom above your own. We ask Him to sustain you day by day as you trust Him, even without full understanding, and to let you see His faithful care.
