Unspoken

We join you in lifting this unspoken request to our heavenly Father, trusting that He knows the depths of your heart and the details you have not shared. We thank you for asking us to pray that the Lord's will be done and for understanding and wisdom, which shows a heart that desires to honor God above all.

We are reminded that even when we do not have words, the Spirit intercedes for us. Romans 8:26 says In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. And we have confidence as 1 John 5:14 tells us, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. We can rest knowing God hears this unspoken burden and will answer according to His perfect will, for Romans 8:28 assures us that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.

We also pray earnestly for the wisdom and understanding you seek. James 1:5 promises But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And Proverbs 2:6 reminds us For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in His Word and in prayer, asking Him to make His will clear and to grant you peace as you wait on Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We notice your request speaks of the Lord's will but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one and this unspoken request that You fully know. Lord, we ask that Your perfect will be done in this situation, and that You would grant abundant wisdom, clear understanding, and discernment. Lead and guide each step, make the path straight, and help our friend to trust You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding. Grant Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and help them to feel Your presence and Your love in a powerful way. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with what you have not put into words. We understand you are carrying something that feels weighty and you want more than anything for the Lord's will to be done, with real understanding and wisdom for the next steps.

It is a good and humble place to ask for wisdom instead of just quick answers. In our experience, clarity often comes not all at once but as we keep walking faithfully with what we already know is right, while we keep asking God to show the next step. It can help to notice the difference between our own anxious thoughts, the voices around us, and the quiet steady direction God gives through His Word, through peace, and through wise counsel.

One simple way we have seen help is to set aside a few unhurried minutes each day this week to bring this unspoken matter to the Lord, write down what you know for sure and what still feels unclear, and share it with one trusted mature believer who can pray and think it through with you.

Father, we lift this friend and this unspoken burden to You. You know every detail and every concern behind it. We ask for Your will to be done and for a clear measure of wisdom and understanding for each decision ahead. Give peace in the waiting and confidence to take the next faithful step. Draw them close and remind them they are heard and loved. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your unspoken request has been heard and is carried to the throne of grace, where He who searches the heart knows what is the mind of the Spirit. Though you have not declared the particulars, the Lord knows them altogether, and we may with confidence ask that His will be done and that wisdom and understanding may be granted to you.

As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so His will is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings through even the most distant limbs of human life. In grace we rest assured that He is King, willing to do as He pleases, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. It is a sweet and wise prayer you have offered, for our Lord taught us to pray, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. There is a revealed will which we must not violate, which is plainly set forth in His Word, and there is a providential will which we should always consult, as we say, If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that. There is also that royal will which we seek to fulfill because we love Him, desiring not even honest gain unless we can promote His glory by it. Sometimes to be passive in the hand of God will be our strength, and to stand still until the cloudy and fiery pillar moves before us will be our highest wisdom.

You ask also for understanding and wisdom. This is a prayer God delights to answer, for He gives wisdom liberally and upbraids not. The powers we possess are insignificant compared with His, and all wisdom that we learn apart from Him is but varnished folly. Look to His Word, for nine times out of ten, to look to His commandments and precepts will show you what you must not do, and thereby what you may do. Bow with submission to the will of God, and by that very fact you are furnished with unerring guidance. He has promised, Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. He works in His people to will and to do of His good pleasure, changing the human will and making men willing in the day of His power, so that we may truly say with our Lord, Not as I will, but as Thou wilt, and yet also, Father, I will, when our will is made to be His will.

Let us pray together. O Father, Thou knowest this unspoken burden which Thy child lays before Thee. Do as Thou wilt, for what Thou doest is always best. Let Thy revealed will be plain to this seeking heart through Thy Word, let Thy providential will open and shut the doors according to Thy perfect wisdom, and let Thy royal will be fulfilled in a willing and obedient spirit. Grant understanding to discern Thy way and wisdom to walk in it, that in quiet submission and holy confidence this soul may be guided by Thy counsel now and received to glory afterward. Keep this one close to Christ, in whom alone is salvation, and let Thy will be done in this matter as it is done in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
