Thank you for trusting us with your unspoken request for your family. Even though the details remain between you and the Lord, He knows them fully, and we count it a privilege to bring them before Him with you.
We believe that prayer is a deep and personal conversation with God, and it is also a place where we can agree together. Jesus said that if two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it shall be done. So we are joining our faith with yours, asking the Father to meet these family needs according to His wisdom and love.
Scripture reminds us that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. It is not the length of our praying or eloquent words that makes prayer effective, but sincerity, faith, and a heart that is right with God through Jesus Christ. That relationship is the foundation of all prayer. When we can truly say Our Father, we have the confidence that He hears us. If anyone has not yet come to Him through Jesus, the first and most important prayer is simply, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in Christ alone for salvation. Through Him we become children of God and prayer becomes a living fellowship.
Jesus gave us a pattern for prayer that helps us keep our hearts aligned. It begins with worship, honoring the Father and His name and greatness. It continues with seeking His kingdom and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Only then does it move to our personal needs, asking for daily provision, forgiveness, guidance, and protection, and it ends by acknowledging again that the kingdom, the power, and the glory belong to Him. In that pattern we see three parts of prayer woven together, worship, petition for our own needs, and intercession for others.
The true purpose of prayer is not to persuade God to do our will, but to open our hearts to His will. True prayer often begins with God Himself, as He places His desires on our hearts and we then return them to Him in prayer, consenting to what He already longs to do. He knows what you need before you ask, so you do not need to inform Him. You can simply come honestly, even without words, and trust the Holy Spirit to help you and to bring your needs before the Father.
So for your family we pray in this way. Father, we hallow Your name and thank You for Your goodness and mercy. We ask that Your kingdom and Your will be done in this family and in each life represented in this unspoken request. You see every circumstance, every burden, every relationship, and every need that has not been spoken aloud. We ask You to provide, to heal where there is hurt, to bring peace where there is worry, to give wisdom and strength for each decision, and to draw each member closer to Jesus. We pray that You would be glorified in how You answer, and that this family would experience the joy that comes from seeing Your hand at work. We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting Your love and Your perfect will. Amen.
