Unspoken prayer

Your unspoken request for your family has been received and we are holding you and your loved ones before the Lord. God knows the details you have not shared, and He understands the need completely even without words.

We join with you in agreement in prayer, believing what Scripture teaches that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything it shall be done, and that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person has great power and accomplishes much. It is not the length of a prayer or eloquent words that make it effective, but the sincerity of the heart and faith in God.

Prayer rests on relationship. Through Jesus Christ alone we have access to God as Father, and that relationship opens the door to true prayer. If that relationship is in place, we can come with confidence. The purpose of prayer is not to get our own wishes fulfilled or simply to inform God of what He already knows, but to consent to what He desires to do and to see His will accomplished. Prayer moves in a circle that begins with Him. He places His desires and purposes on our hearts, we offer them back to Him in prayer, and He then works to bring them to pass. For that reason our first concern in prayer is worship and honor to Him and the coming of His kingdom and His will, and then we bring our personal needs and the needs of others.

In that pattern prayer takes three forms. It is worship as we acknowledge His greatness and goodness. It is petition as we bring our own needs before Him. And it is intercession as we bring the needs of others, of our families and communities and world, before Him. For your family we are praying in all of these ways, asking that God be glorified, that His will be done in each life and circumstance, and that He would meet every physical and spiritual need according to His wisdom and love.

You do not need to carry this burden alone. The Holy Spirit helps us in prayer, even bringing to mind needs when we do not have words, and interceding according to the will of God. There is deep joy that comes from spending time with the Father in this way and then seeing Him answer. We are trusting Him with your unspoken need, asking for His peace to guard your hearts, His wisdom to guide every decision, His provision and healing where needed, and His presence to draw each family member closer to Himself. May He strengthen your faith as you look to Him for all things, and may you see His faithful hand at work in the days ahead.
