Unspoken prayer

Thank you for sharing this unspoken request for your family. Even though the details remain between you and the Lord, He knows them fully, and we are honored to lift them with you before the Father.

Prayer rests on relationship. Through faith in Jesus Christ we are brought into the family of God and can truly call Him Father. If that relationship is yours, you have an open door to come boldly and talk with Him as a child with a father. If you have not yet come to Him that way, the first and most important prayer is simply, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in what Jesus has done to forgive and receive you. That restores the relationship that makes all other prayer meaningful.

The purpose of prayer is not to make God do our will, but to invite His will to be done. Jesus gave a pattern for prayer that helps us remember this order. It begins with worship, honoring the Father and His name and greatness. Then it moves to seeking His kingdom and His will on earth as it is in heaven. Only then does it bring our own daily needs, asking for provision, forgiveness, guidance and protection, and it closes by giving Him the kingdom and the power and the glory. In this way prayer takes three forms, worship that lifts up who God is, petition that brings our own needs to Him, and intercession that carries the needs of others, like your family, before Him. True prayer often begins in the heart of God Himself, as He places His desires within us and we offer them back to Him, opening the door for Him to do what He already longs to do.

You do not need many words or a long prayer for God to hear you. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often short. What matters is not length or repetition, but a sincere heart and faith. Scripture says the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, and it points to Elijah as an example of a person like us whose prayer God answered. We also have the promise that when two or three agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done by the Father. So we are agreeing with you now.

We are asking the Father in Jesus name for your family, that His will would be done in each need you carry, that He would provide what is lacking, bring comfort where there is pain, give wisdom where there is a decision, bring healing and peace where there is trouble, and draw each member closer to Himself. We trust the Holy Spirit to intercede and to give assurance and comfort to your heart as you pray, even when words are few or remain unspoken. There is deep joy in spending time with the Father this way and in watching Him work in answer to prayer.

Be assured that you are not alone in this. We are holding you and your family up before the Lord, asking Him to be faithful as He has always been, to meet you in these needs and to be glorified through it all.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift your unspoken request for your family needs before the Lord, trusting that our heavenly Father knows every detail you did not share and hears the cry of your heart even when it remains unspoken. We are comforted by the promise in Romans 8:26 that the Spirit intercedes for us when we do not know what we ought to pray, and by Philippians 4:19 that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We pray that the Lord will meet every need within your family according to His perfect will, that He will grant you all peace and provision and draw each member of your family closer to Him. We pray that you will feel His presence and His comfort in this time. We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
