Unpaid Salary for Three Months

The weight you are carrying is real, and the strain of waiting month after month for what is rightfully owed can wear down even the strongest heart. When the systems meant to provide seem broken and the people responsible remain unmoved, it is easy for fear to start whispering. Fear can make a person panic, ready to flee or to grasp at anything that promises relief. But before God leads us forward, He often tests what is in our heart, asking us to trust Him rather than give in to that frightened impulse.

There is a danger in these dry seasons of making an idol out of our provision. A man in Scripture once found a young Levite and offered him a steady income, a place to stay, and a sense of security. The arrangement seemed good, and the young man was content. But when a better offer came along, he abandoned his post and even took what did not belong to him, because his heart was really anchored to the silver and the comfort, not to the Lord. It is a quiet warning for us all. When a crisis hits, we will always cry out to whatever we have truly been worshipping. If our peace rests entirely on a processed paycheck, then that has become our functional god, and it cannot carry us.

You asked for justice in your prayer, and I understand that longing. You have been treated unfairly, and God sees that clearly. He is a God of perfect justice. But I want to gently remind you that when we stand before the Lord ourselves, we never truly ask for bare justice. If we received what we deserved from a holy God, we would be undone. Instead, we plead for mercy, and He delights to give it. And then He goes far beyond mercy, pouring out grace, giving us what we do not deserve. That includes His presence, His peace, and His faithful care during this very trial. So while it is right to want the earthly wrong made right, bring your own heart to God on the footing of mercy. Let His grace be your supply, even before the salary is released.

Do not let the delay drive you to spiritual flight or cause you to rip up your trust in God and lay it on the altar of mere human resolution. The Lord is your provider, not your employer. The silver and the food come from His hand, even when He uses imperfect channels. Ask Him to touch the hearts of those responsible, yes, but more importantly, ask Him to anchor your soul so deeply in Christ that you are content to dwell with Him regardless of the outcome. His grace is sufficient. His blessings are not withheld because a system is slow. Rest in His care, and let the peace that surpasses understanding guard your heart and mind while you wait.
