Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord

We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we understand your desire to see what is right done.

Scripture makes a clear distinction between sorrow and repentance. There is a sorrow that is of this world, which is really being sorry for the consequences or for being caught, and that kind of sorrow leads to death. There is a godly sorrow, a sorrow according to God, that leads to a change of heart and a change of direction. That change is what the Bible calls repentance. True repentance is not just feeling bad, it is turning away from what is wrong and doing what is right.

That is why John the Baptist called people to bring forth fruit that shows repentance has really happened. It is not enough to say we are sorry. A changed life shows itself in changed actions, in taking responsibility and making things right where we can.

We also remember the example of Esau in Hebrews. He wept with tears, but he was not weeping in repentance for his sin. He was weeping because he had lost the blessing. He sought the blessing with tears, but he did not seek to turn from his wrong. His tears were about the loss, not about a true turning to God. This reminds us to pray not only for tears or regret over consequences, but for a genuine work of God in the heart that leads to a real turning.

So we pray for your former landlord in the name of Jesus. We ask that the Lord would grant him godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and salvation, not a passing regret. That God would open his eyes to his responsibility before God and before the authorities, and that this would lead to a clear change, to humble himself, to confess what is needed, and to take the steps to resolve the unpaid penalty with the police both locally and where it remains overdue in the other country. We pray that he would bear the fruit of a changed heart by acting honestly and diligently to make this right.

We also pray for you, that the Lord would give you peace as you leave this in His hands, trusting that He is just and merciful and that He works in hearts to bring conviction and restoration. May the Lord do His perfect work in this situation for His glory and for the good of all involved.

In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer concerning the unpaid police penalty left by your former landlord. We have continued to lift up this matter before the Lord, asking that He would work in the heart of your former landlord to bring true remorse and a desire to resolve the issue with the police both here and abroad where the penalty remains overdue and unpaid.

We are reminded in Proverbs 21:1 that the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord and He can turn it wherever He wills, and we trust that He is able to bring conviction where there has been neglect and to move your former landlord to take responsibility and make restitution.

If your request was answered and the former landlord has shown remorse and resolved the penalty with the police, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and the issue remains unresolved, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray that the Lord will grant you peace and patience as you wait upon Him and that He will bring justice and resolution in this matter in Jesus Name. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
