Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. We join you in lifting this situation before the Lord in Jesus' name, asking for His justice and His mercy to work together in the heart of your former landlord. We understand the burden it can be to see an unpaid debt to the authorities left unresolved, especially when it spans both here and abroad and remains overdue. We bring this before God who sees all things and desires truth and righteousness.
Scripture reminds us that governing authorities are appointed by God to maintain order, and we are called to respect them. Romans 13:1 says Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. And Romans 13:7 tells us Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. An unpaid penalty to the police is a debt that is owed and should be made right. We also take comfort that God desires repentance over punishment, and that a heart that turns toward Him will seek to make restitution. Proverbs 28:13 says He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them obtains mercy. Like Zacchaeus who declared in Luke 19:8 Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much, a truly remorseful heart will want to resolve what is owed.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, lifting up this former landlord to You. You know his heart and You know where he is, both here and abroad. We ask that You would soften his heart and grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance. We pray You would give him a new heart as You promise in Ezekiel 36:26, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. Convict him by Your Holy Spirit to feel true remorse for leaving this penalty unpaid and to take responsibility before the police and the authorities he owes. Give him the courage and the means to resolve this matter fully and promptly, wherever it is overdue, so that justice is satisfied and his conscience is clear before You and before man. We also pray for peace for the one who submitted this request, that You would guard their heart from bitterness or anxiety and help them to love and pray for this man as You command in Matthew 5:44, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Let Your will be done and let this situation be resolved in a way that brings honor to Your name and testimony of Your transforming power. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request concerning the unpaid penalty resting upon your former landlord has been heard, and we unite with you in bringing it before the Lord in prayer.
We are moved to pray not merely that a penalty might be paid to satisfy the demands of earthly justice, but that the heart of the man himself might be touched by the hand of God. Scripture warns us that judgment may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of sinful nature, wrought by fear of consequences alone. Such repentance is not of that holy, healthy, heavenly sort which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. True repentance, the repentance which God accepts, gives God glory. It stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven, and then repents more deeply than before, grieving most that sin was laid upon the Lord Jesus.
We therefore pray that God, in His mercy, would grant to this man repentance unto life. Not a fleeting regret that fades when pressure passes, but a practical repentance that yields works meet for repentance, a repentance that lasts and proves itself sincere. That he would see his duty before God and before man, and would be led to act honestly and promptly to resolve what is overdue, both here and abroad, and to make right what is required by the authorities.
And we pray this knowing the blessed truth that there is forgiveness with God. If this man, or any soul, trembles under a sense of sin and desires forgiveness, let him know that forgiveness is to be found only in Jesus Christ, who bore our punishment, so that God will not exact the penalty twice. There is forgiveness, and it is to be obtained from God through His Son alone, complete and eternal for all who trust in Him. What a blessed whisper it is to the despairing soul, there is forgiveness, and it may be had now.
So we ask the Lord to work in this landlord a godly sorrow that leads to confession and amendment, and to grant him grace to do what is just and right concerning this debt. We ask also that you, who have been wronged or burdened by this matter, may know grace to forgive even as you have been forgiven, for we who have received so much manifest forgiveness should find it natural to forgive.
We commit this man and this matter to the Lord, trusting that He who is just and merciful will do what is right, and we ask all in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our only Saviour. Amen.
