Unpaid police penalty by the former landlord
We join you in bringing this matter before the Lord and we lift up your former landlord together in Jesus' name, asking God to work in his heart and to bring this unresolved penalty to a just and peaceful resolution both here and abroad.
We are reminded that God calls us to respect and honor the authorities He has established and to fulfill our obligations with integrity. As it is written, Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Romans 13:1 and Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. Romans 13:7 When a debt or penalty remains unpaid, it not only dishonors those authorities but can also weigh on the conscience and hinder peace.
We pray that God would grant this man godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and action, for Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:10 We ask that the Lord would convict him gently but firmly, that he would feel remorse not merely as worldly regret or fear of consequences, but as a desire to do what is right before God and man, to make restitution and to clear what is owed to the police where it remains overdue.
We also pray for you, that you would not be burdened with anxiety or bitterness while waiting for this to be resolved. We ask God to guard your heart, to give you peace and patience, and to be your advocate where you have no control over another person's actions. The Lord sees what is done in secret and He loves justice, and He will bring all things to light in His perfect timing. To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice. Proverbs 21:3

You know his heart, his circumstances, and this unpaid penalty that remains outstanding with the police here and abroad. Lord, we ask that You would speak to his conscience, soften his heart, and lead him to take responsibility with honesty and humility. Move him to resolve this matter fully and promptly, to pay what is owed, and to walk in integrity before You and before the authorities You have ordained. Grant him the courage to make things right and the grace to follow through. We also pray for peace for the one who submitted this request, that You would remove any worry or frustration and replace it with trust in Your justice and mercy. Let Your will be done in this situation and let Your name be glorified through a right and orderly resolution. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Your request has been brought before the Lord and we will join you in prayer concerning this burden.
We do well to pray not merely that a penalty might be paid, but that the heart might be changed. There is a repentance that is of the flesh, after the manner of the sinful nature of men, which is moved only by fear of judgment. Such a carnal repentance does not glorify God. What we desire for this man is that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, a repentance unto life. True repentance gives God glory, it stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven and then grieves more deeply that such sin was laid upon the Lord Jesus. It is known by this, that it leaves the sins we loved before and shows that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more, and it yields works meet for repentance. It is practical and it lasts. Let us pray that God would grant him such a repentance, that he would turn from neglect and wrongdoing and do what is just and honest before men and before God.
We remember also that there is forgiveness with God through Jesus Christ alone. However sinful a life has been, there is forgiveness for every sinner who trembles and with a penitent heart desires pardon and looks to Christ who bore our punishment. If this former landlord will confess his sin and trust in the finished work of Christ, he may find that surprising and complete forgiveness which God delights to bestow. And having received such mercy, he will learn that we who have been so freely forgiven ought to find it natural to act justly and to forgive others, for it is a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness among those who have tasted grace.
