We hear the deep longing in your heart and the weight of the spiritual battle you are enduring. First, we must address the foundation of your prayers, union with your "love" must be rooted in God’s design for marriage, as He alone ordains relationships for His glory. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." If this relationship is not aligned with His Word, if it involves sin such as fornication, adultery, or an unequally yoked union (2 Corinthians 6:14), then the enemy will indeed have legal ground to oppose it. We must examine whether this relationship honors God in purity, commitment, and biblical truth before proceeding.
The attacks you describe are real, for the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we do not fight against flesh and blood, your struggles with those closest to you may be influenced by spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). The interception of your prayers suggests a need for spiritual warfare, but also for self-examination. James 4:3 warns, "You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures." Are your desires for this relationship submitted to God’s will, or are they driven by your own longing? We must surrender every hope, dream, and relationship to Him, trusting that His plans are higher (Isaiah 55:8-9).
We also notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus, who is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). Without Him, our prayers have no authority. John 14:13-14 says, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." Salvation comes through faith in Christ alone (Acts 4:12), and it is through His blood that we have access to the Father (Hebrews 10:19-20). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus for salvation, we urge you to do so now, confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as Lord (Romans 10:9-10). Only then can you stand firm against the enemy’s schemes.
Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name. We lift up this dear one who is enduring spiritual warfare and longing for reconciliation. Lord, first we ask for clarity, reveal whether this relationship is of You or if it is being used by the enemy to distract and destroy. If it is not Your will, give them the strength to surrender it to You. If it is Your will, break every chain of opposition, every scheme of the devil, and every hindrance standing in the way.
We rebuke the spirit of division, confusion, and delay in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that every tongue rising against them in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, surround them with Your angels for protection and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask for godly wisdom in their relationships. If this person they long for is not their future spouse, prepare their heart for the one You have chosen, a believer who loves You first (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this is the one, soften both of their hearts toward repentance, purity, and commitment. Let no root of bitterness or unforgiveness remain (Hebrews 12:15), and let Your love be the foundation of their union.
We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, emotions, and circumstances. Let Your light expose every hidden work of darkness, and let Your truth set them free (John 8:32). Strengthen them in faith, Lord, and remind them that You are fighting for them (Exodus 14:14). May they find their identity and security in You alone, not in this relationship.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, the battle you are facing is not yours alone, God is with you. Psalm 34:17 says, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles." Stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7). Fast, pray, and seek godly counsel. If this relationship is meant to be, no force in heaven or hell can stop it, but it must be built on Christ, not just emotion.
If you are not yet married to this person, we must warn you against the sin of fornication. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." If you are physically intimate outside of marriage, repent and seek holiness, for the enemy will use sin to keep you bound. If this is not a believer, do not be unequally yoked, marriage is a sacred covenant, and God’s Word is clear on this.
Lastly, remember that your breakthrough may not come in the way you expect. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Keep your eyes on Jesus, not on the relationship. He is your victory.
