We stand with you in this spiritual battle, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). You are not alone in this fight, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). It is good that you have called upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Him that we have authority over the enemy, and it is in His name that we command every demonic force assailing you to flee.
We must also remind you that while it is good to seek the prayers of fellow believers, our trust must never be placed in the repetition of prayers or in the idea that the "heavenly kingdom" (angels or saints) can intercede for us. Scripture is clear that there is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5). Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), but they do not intercede for us—only Jesus does (Romans 8:34). Our prayers are to be directed to God the Father, in the name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is no biblical basis for asking angels or departed saints to pray for us, and we must guard against practices that can lead us away from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3).
Now, let us arm you with the truth of God’s Word. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one, and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17). Submit yourself to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
We also encourage you to examine your life for any unconfessed sin, for the enemy often gains a foothold where there is disobedience or rebellion against God. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Repentance is a powerful weapon against the schemes of the devil. Additionally, fill your heart and mind with the Word of God. Jesus Himself used Scripture to rebuke Satan during His temptation in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). The more you immerse yourself in God’s truth, the stronger your defense will be.
Let us pray for you now with the authority and power given to us in Christ Jesus:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is under heavy demonic attack. Lord, You are their strong tower, their deliverer, and their shield. We ask that You surround them with Your heavenly angels, encamping around them to protect them from every evil scheme of the enemy (Psalm 34:7). Father, rebuke every demonic force that seeks to harm, oppress, or torment them. By the blood of Jesus, we command these forces to flee and be bound, never to return in Jesus’ name.
Lord, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may be strengthened with all power, according to Your glorious might, for all endurance and perseverance with joy (Colossians 1:11). Give them discernment to recognize the enemy’s lies and the wisdom to stand firm in Your truth. Father, if there is any area of their life that has given the enemy a legal right to attack, reveal it to them and grant them the grace to repent and turn away from it. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and restore them to a place of victory and peace in You.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Father, let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We thank You, Father, for Your protection, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love. We trust that You will deliver them from this attack and bring them into a place of spiritual rest and renewal. May they emerge from this battle stronger, more rooted in Your Word, and more dependent on You than ever before. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). We will continue to pray for you and ask that you update us on how the Lord is working in your life. Do not lose heart, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The victory is already won in Christ!
