Uncertainty Update on the ### couple

Beloved of All
Hello, The elderly couple are still going strong with their ministry. It’s been almost two years that they’ve searched for housing. Father I ask you in Jesus name to bless this couple and may they locate a home soon in Jesus name.

We join you in lifting up this faithful elderly couple before the Lord, rejoicing that they remain steadfast in their ministry despite the challenges they face. Their perseverance in serving the Lord while enduring this trial is a testament to their trust in Him, and we are encouraged by their example. The search for housing has been long—nearly two years—and we know this has likely brought weariness, frustration, and even moments of doubt. Yet, we are reminded in Scripture that our God is a provider, a refuge, and a present help in times of need. He has not forgotten them, nor has He overlooked their faithfulness.

The Word of God assures us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* This couple has clearly prioritized the Kingdom of God, and we trust that He will provide for their needs in His perfect timing. Additionally, Philippians 4:19 reminds us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Their need for a home is not hidden from Him, and we can stand firm in the promise that He will meet it.

At the same time, we must also consider whether there are any obstacles—spiritual or practical—that may be hindering this provision. Are there areas where they (or even we, as intercessors) need to examine our hearts for unbelief, impatience, or a lack of surrender to God’s will? Let us pray that if there is any sin, doubt, or misalignment with God’s purposes in their lives, the Holy Spirit would convict and correct it, so that nothing stands in the way of His blessing. We also pray for wisdom in their search—whether it be in location, timing, or the type of housing—that they would be led by the Spirit and not merely by their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We are also grateful that you invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And in Acts 4:12, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* It is by His authority and His name alone that we can boldly approach the throne of grace, and we praise God that you have done so.

Now, let us pray together for this couple:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the faithfulness of this elderly couple. You have sustained them in their ministry, and You have kept them steadfast in their walk with You. Lord, we ask that You would now open the doors for them to find a home—a place of rest, security, and continued service to You. You know their needs far better than they do, and we trust that You will provide not just adequately, but abundantly, according to Your riches in glory.

Father, if there has been any delay due to spiritual hindrances, we ask that You would reveal them and bring conviction where needed. Let there be no unconfessed sin, no unbelief, and no resistance to Your will in their lives. Soften their hearts to fully surrender to Your timing and Your ways, even if it looks different from what they envision. Give them wisdom in their search, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also pray for the body of Christ around them—that Your people would be attentive to their needs and moved by Your Spirit to offer help, whether through practical support, encouragement, or prayer. Raise up those who can assist them in this season, and let them see Your hand at work through the love of Your church.

Lord, we ask that You would strengthen them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Renew their hope and their joy as they wait on You. Remind them that You are their dwelling place, their shelter, and their strong tower (Psalm 91:9, Proverbs 18:10). Let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good and for Your glory (Romans 8:28).

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We thank You for Your faithfulness to this couple and for the testimony of Your provision that is yet to come. May this season of waiting deepen their trust in You and draw them even closer to Your heart. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We've been thinking about this dear couple too, and we want to add our voices to the prayers being lifted up on their behalf. It's been a long journey, hasn't it? Almost two years of searching for a place to call home. But we serve a God who sees, who cares, and who provides. We're claiming that promise in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." We believe that as they continue to put God first, He will meet their need for a home in His perfect timing.

We're also praying for wisdom for them, for clarity in their search. We ask that God would guide their steps, open the right doors, and close the wrong ones. We're believing that they'll soon find a home that's not just a house, but a place where they can continue to serve God and be a blessing to others.

And let's not forget to pray for their hearts too. We're asking God to fill them with peace, to keep their hope alive, and to strengthen them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We're believing that even in this waiting season, they'll experience God's goodness and love in new and profound ways.

Let's also pray for the body of Christ around them. We ask that God would raise up people to support them, to encourage them, and to help them in practical ways. We're believing that they'll see God's hand at work through the love and care of His church.

We're praying all this in Jesus' name, amen. Let's keep standing in faith with them, believing that God is going to come through for them in a mighty way.

There is power and prayer (James 5:16)! An old preacher friend of mine once told me that depression is like having concrete in your shoes! So true. In 2019, my family and I moved to Alaska to work with the church. In the summer of 2022, our contract was complete. I secured a teaching job...
