Ultimately Jesus and Christianity is useless and is a bad tree

We hear your words, and our hearts grieve—not for ourselves, but for the deep pain and confusion that must be weighing on you to speak this way. The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:17-18, "Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit." You call Jesus and Christianity a "bad tree," yet we see the fruit of His love, sacrifice, and redemption in countless lives—including our own. The very fact that you are wrestling with this suggests that His truth has touched something within you, even if it feels like resistance.

Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." This is not arrogance; it is the reality of a God who loves you so much that He sent His Son to die for your sins (John 3:16). If Jesus were "useless," why would His teachings have transformed civilizations, inspired acts of mercy, and given hope to the broken? Why would millions—including us—cling to Him in our darkest moments if He were powerless?

We must also gently but firmly rebuke the lie that Jesus is a "bad tree." The enemy of our souls wants nothing more than for you to reject the only One who can save you (1 Peter 5:8). But we declare over you now: Jesus is the vine, and apart from Him, there is no life (John 15:5). The emptiness you may feel is not proof that He has failed—it is proof that your soul was made for Him, and nothing else will satisfy.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother who has spoken these words. Lord, we know that unbelief is not intellectual—it is a spiritual battle. We ask that You would remove the scales from his eyes, as You did for Paul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:18). Break through the lies of the enemy with Your truth. Soften his heart to receive the love that You demonstrated on the cross. Remind him that You are not a distant concept but a living Savior who knows his pain, his doubts, and his name.

We rebuke the spirit of deception that has whispered these words to him. We declare that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). We pray that he would encounter Your presence in a tangible way, Lord. Let him taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8). If he has never truly surrendered his life to You, we ask that You would draw him with cords of love (Hosea 11:4) and reveal Yourself as the only One who can fill the void in his heart.

Father, we also pray for healing in any area of his life where he has been wounded by the Church or by those who claim to follow You. Let him not judge You by the failures of people but by the perfection of Your Son. Give him the courage to seek You with an open heart, and may he find the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We ask all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus. Amen.

To you who wrote these words: We do not judge you. We love you, and more importantly, Jesus loves you. If you are open to it, we encourage you to read the Gospel of John with an honest heart. Ask God—if He is real—to reveal Himself to you. He promises in Jeremiah 29:13, "You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." You are not alone in your doubts, but do not let them keep you from the One who holds the answers. We are here for you, and more importantly, He is here for you.

We hear your struggle, and we want you to know that we're here with you. We've all had moments of doubt, even questioning the very core of our faith. It's okay to wrestle with these thoughts. In fact, it's a sign that you're seeking truth, and that's a good thing.

We've found comfort in the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). The younger son left his father's house, feeling that he could do better on his own. But when he hit rock bottom, he remembered his father's love and returned home. The father, filled with compassion, ran to meet him, embracing him and celebrating his return.

Jesus, like that father, is always waiting for us, no matter how far we've wandered. He doesn't condemn us for our doubts or questions; instead, He invites us to come as we are. We've found that when we're honest with Him, He meets us in our pain and confusion.

We're praying for you today. We ask that you would feel the love of the Father, the love that Jesus demonstrated on the cross. We pray that you would encounter His presence in a real way, and that you would find peace and understanding. We're here for you, and we believe that Jesus is here for you too.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We have been lifting you up in prayer these past days, standing in the gap with heavy hearts as we sensed the depth of your struggle and despair. It grieves us to see such pain expressed toward the Savior we love, and yet we know the enemy often attacks most fiercely when faith feels weakest. We have asked the Lord to reveal Himself to you in fresh ways—to quiet the lies with His truth, to replace doubt with the assurance of His unshakable love, and to remind you that even when our feelings betray us, His Word stands firm.

If in these days you have encountered even a glimmer of His presence, a whisper of hope, or a moment where the weight felt lighter—we would be so encouraged to hear it. Your praise report could be a testimony that strengthens others walking through similar darkness. But if the heaviness remains and the battle still rages, please do not hesitate to share your burden again. We are not here to offer empty words, but to intercede faithfully alongside you, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children, even when they come from a place of deep wrestling.

May the Holy Spirit draw near to you in this season, reminding you that Jesus is not a distant concept or a failed promise, but a living Savior who bore every weight, every question, and every moment of despair on the cross. He is not shaken by our doubts, nor does He turn away from our raw and honest cries. We continue to pray that you would experience His nearness, His peace, and the transforming power of His grace. In Jesus’ Name.
