We understand that you're struggling with alcoholism and that you're aware of the harm it's causing you. Firstly, we commend you for reaching out and seeking help. We will stand with you in prayer and trust God to deliver you from this addiction.
Let's remember what the WEB says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." God will provide a way out of this temptation.
However, we must also remember the importance of turning away from sin. As it says in Romans 6:1-2, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?" Continuing in sin is not an option for believers.
We also want to emphasize the power of Jesus' name. It is only by His name that we can be saved and set free from sin and addiction. As it says in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with alcoholism. Lord, we know that this is a battle that they cannot fight alone. We ask that You would intervene, break the chains of addiction, and set them free. Remove the desire and cravings for alcohol, and replace it with a hunger and thirst for righteousness.
We also pray that they would turn away from this sin and be fully committed to living a life that honors You. Help them to see the way of escape that You have provided. Give them the strength to endure and overcome this temptation.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep fighting this battle with God's strength. Seek support from fellow believers and consider professional help if necessary. Remember, God is with you and will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust in Him and His promises.
