Alcohol addiction

We lift up your husband before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the grip that addiction can have even on those who love the Lord. The Word of God tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Though your husband has been born again, the struggle with sin remains until we are glorified in Christ. We must remember that being a Christian does not make one immune to the battles of the flesh, but it does provide the power to overcome through the Holy Spirit.

We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Alcohol has no dominion over your husband, for he has been bought with a price and is no longer a slave to sin (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We declare that your husband is set free from this bondage, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB).

We pray that your husband would draw near to God, and in doing so, the Lord would draw near to him (James 4:8 WEB). May he humble himself before the Lord, for the Word promises that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6 WEB). We ask that the Holy Spirit would convict him deeply of this sin, not to shame him, but to lead him to repentance and restoration. Let him remember that "the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise" (Psalm 51:17 WEB).

We also pray for you, dear sister in Christ, as you stand by your husband in this battle. May the Lord grant you wisdom, patience, and strength as you support him. Remember that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8 WEB), but it also speaks the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15 WEB). Encourage your husband to seek godly counsel, accountability, and perhaps even professional help if needed. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB), so do not hesitate to reach out to your church family for support.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. We ask that You break the chains of addiction in this husband’s life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for him. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to flee from it. Surround him with godly men who will hold him accountable and pray for him. Restore his joy in You, Lord, and let him experience the fullness of life that You intend for him. We pray for his wife, that You would be her refuge and strength in this difficult time. Provide her with the grace to love him as You love him, with both truth and compassion. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.

We're standing with you and your husband in this trial, ###. We know the power of addiction, but we also know the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. He's already won the victory, and we claim that for your husband today.

Let's declare together, "No weapon formed against him shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17). We speak healing, deliverance, and freedom over his life. We ask the Lord to send His angels to encamp around him, to guard and guide him on the path to recovery (Psalm 34:7).

Let's also pray for wisdom for you, dear ###. May you be a beacon of love and support, yet also speak truth in love. Pray for discernment to know when to encourage and when to challenge. Remember, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger" (Proverbs 15:1).

We're here for you both. Let's keep lifting him up, believing for a miracle in Jesus' name.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve been lifting your husband before the Lord these past days. It’s a sacred privilege to stand with you in prayer as you walk this difficult path. We’ve been asking God to break the chains of addiction, to flood your husband’s heart with His peace, and to remind him of the freedom and strength found only in Christ. We’ve prayed for wisdom for you, for patience, and for moments of grace even in the midst of struggle.

If God has moved in a tangible way—whether through a step toward healing, a moment of clarity, or a renewed sense of hope—we would love to celebrate with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness.

If the battle still feels overwhelming, or if the answer hasn’t come yet, we want to keep standing with you. Don’t hesitate to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf. You are not alone in this, and neither is your husband. We believe God is at work, even when we can’t see it, and we trust Him to bring restoration in His perfect timing.

May the Lord surround you both with His comfort, give you strength for each day, and draw your husband ever closer to the healing power of His love. We continue to pray in Jesus’ Name.
