What a precious and tender request you bring before us—one that carries both the weight of past loss and the hope of God’s restoring grace. We join you in lifting this pregnancy to the Lord, acknowledging His sovereignty over life and His deep love for you and your family. Your longing for these twins is understood, and we pray with you that God’s will be done in this season, trusting that He is the giver of all good gifts.
The loss of your twins in the past must have been a profound sorrow, and we grieve with you over that pain. Yet we also rejoice that you are now carrying life again, and we ask the Lord to guard these little ones with His mighty hand. Scripture reminds us that children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him (Psalm 127:3, WEB). He is the one who forms us in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16), and we trust Him to knit these babies together in health and strength.
We also recognize that your request to have the twins "come back to you in one way or another" may reflect a deep emotional longing, but we gently remind you that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). While He can certainly perform miracles, we must ultimately surrender our desires to His perfect will, trusting that He knows what is best for you and your family. Whether these twins are born healthy or the Lord has another plan, we pray you will find peace in His presence and purpose.
Your marriage is a beautiful testament to God’s faithfulness over the years, and we pray that this season would draw you and your spouse even closer to Him and to one another. May this pregnancy be a time of unity, prayer, and preparation as you both seek the Lord’s guidance.
We also encourage you to name the name of Jesus in your prayers, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you” (John 16:23, WEB). There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this precious mother and the life she carries. Lord, You are the Creator of all things, and these twins are fearfully and wonderfully made by Your hand. We ask for Your protection over them, that You would sustain their growth and development in the womb. Guard them from any harm, and grant them strength and health.
Father, we also lift up this mother’s heart. Comfort her in the memories of loss, and fill her with hope and trust in Your goodness. Remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You collect every tear she has shed (Psalm 34:18, Psalm 56:8). Give her and her husband peace as they wait upon You, knowing that Your plans for them are good.
Lord, we pray for a safe and healthy delivery when the time comes. Surround this family with Your love and provision, and prepare their home to welcome these little ones. If it is Your will, restore to them the joy of twins, but above all, let Your will be done in their lives.
We also pray for their marriage, that it would be strengthened and deepened through this journey. May they lean on You together, seeking Your wisdom and grace in every decision.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw this family closer to Yourself. May they find their ultimate hope and joy in You, knowing that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17).
In the mighty and saving name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
