Disciple of Prayer
This morning, I dreamed about my former boss. In the dream, she was very critical of me, suggesting that I could not build a program based solely on my lived experience. I felt as though she was trying to diminish me and make me doubt myself. I remember responding in the dream that that was not the case. In real life, three years ago, I was given an opportunity to manage a program that had not yet been built. By the grace of God, I built that program from the ground up. After the first year, the program expanded, and I am now approaching my third year leading it. Throughout my career, I have faced a great deal of opposition, particularly from individuals in C-suite roles. However, I have always approached every position as an assignment from God and have given it my very best. The dream also brought back memories of my former employer, where I was essentially forced to choose between my project and my position. Because I remained committed to the vision God had placed on my heart, I was ultimately let go. Although that season was painful, God remained faithful and continued to open doors for me. Recently, I was recognized as Program Manager of the Year within my agency. God has truly shined His favor upon me in this role. I’m not sure why I had this dream, but it brought back memories of having to leave my former position because of a project I was working on. At the time, I was discouraged from pursuing my idea. Ironically, the organization wanted to take on the idea themselves and place their name on it. Despite that, I remained convinced that God had given me the vision, and to this day, I am still faithfully working on it. Please pray for wisdom, discernment, perseverance, and protection over the work God has entrusted to me. Pray that I would remain confident in His calling, not be discouraged by past opposition, and continue walking in obedience as He opens the right doors in His timing.

We hear your heart, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting up every concern and triumph to the Lord. Dreams can often stir up emotions and memories, but we know that God uses even these moments to speak to us, refine us, and remind us of His faithfulness. Your story is a powerful testimony of how the Lord equips those He calls and how He turns opposition into opportunity for His glory. We rejoice with you in the recognition you’ve received and the doors He has opened, but we also understand the weight of past wounds and the need for continued strength and discernment.

First, we want to rebuke the spirit of doubt and discouragement that may linger from that dream or from past experiences. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). That former boss in your dream does not define your worth or your capabilities, God does. He has already proven His faithfulness in your life by allowing you to build a program from the ground up and by expanding it under your leadership. We declare that any voice, whether from the past or present, that seeks to diminish what God has placed in you is silenced in the name of Jesus. You are not defined by criticism or opposition; you are defined by Christ, who has called you and equipped you for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).

We also want to address the pain of being forced to leave a position you were passionate about. It is not easy to walk away from something you poured your heart into, especially when it feels like others are trying to take credit for your vision. But we see in your story the hand of God redirecting you to something even greater. Joseph faced betrayal and false accusations, yet God used his circumstances to elevate him to a position of influence (Genesis 50:20). Like Joseph, you have remained faithful to the vision God placed in your heart, and we believe He will continue to bring it to fruition in ways you may not yet see. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

We pray now for wisdom and discernment as you continue to lead the program God has entrusted to you. Father, we ask that You grant our sister clarity in every decision she makes and that You surround her with godly counsel and support. Protect her from any schemes of the enemy that seek to distract or discourage her. Give her the perseverance to press on, even when the path is challenging, and the humility to rely on You for strength. We pray that You would open the right doors in Your perfect timing and close any doors that are not aligned with Your will. May she walk in confidence, knowing that You who began a good work in her will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

We also lift up the vision God has placed in your heart, the one you were working on before you were let go. Father, we ask that You would breathe new life into this vision and bring it to pass in ways that bring You glory. Let it be a testament to Your faithfulness and a blessing to those it is meant to serve. We rebuke any spirit of theft or deception that seeks to take credit for what You have birthed in her. May Your will be done, and may Your name be praised through it all.

Finally, we want to encourage you to guard your heart against bitterness or resentment toward those who have opposed you. It is natural to feel hurt, but we are called to forgive as Christ has forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). Holding onto unforgiveness only gives the enemy a foothold in your life. Instead, we pray that You would fill her heart with Your peace and that You would help her to see her past experiences through Your eyes. May she continue to walk in obedience, trusting that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the work You are doing in our sister’s life and for the way You have already shown Your favor and faithfulness. We ask that You would continue to guide her steps, protect her heart, and use her mightily for Your kingdom. Give her the courage to stand firm in her calling and the wisdom to navigate every challenge with grace. May she always remember that she is not alone, You are with her, and You will never leave her nor forsake her (Deuteronomy 31:6). We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper and that every tongue that rises against her in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen her, Lord, and let her walk in the fullness of what You have for her. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

It’s clear how deeply this dream stirred up old wounds, especially when it brought back memories of being undervalued and forced to choose between your vision and your position. We can’t help but be touched by how God has already proven His faithfulness in your life, building that program from scratch, seeing it grow, and now being recognized for your hard work. That kind of track record speaks volumes about God’s calling on your life.

We know the enemy loves to use past hurts to plant seeds of doubt, but we’ve seen how God turns opposition into opportunity. Remember, your worth isn’t defined by criticism but by the One who created you for a purpose. Even when others tried to take credit for your vision, you kept walking in obedience, and God honored that.

Let’s pray that you’d feel His peace in the midst of any lingering discouragement. May you be filled with fresh confidence in His leading, knowing He’s opening the right doors in His perfect timing. Ask Him for the strength to keep pressing forward, even when the path feels tough, and trust that He’s working all things for your good.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness in our sister’s life. Quiet any voices of doubt or fear that rise up and remind her of Your promises. Fill her with courage to keep stepping into the calling You’ve placed on her heart. Guard her from bitterness and fill her with Your joy instead. May she walk boldly in the plans You’ve prepared for her, knowing You’re with her every step of the way. In Jesus’ name.
