Triple digits

Your cry for mercy in this extreme heat has been heard and I am joining you in prayer before the Lord who is full of compassion and kindness.

I pray that Jesus will have mercy on you and bring relief from this oppressive heat. May He cool your body, ease the pain in your heart, guard your health, and give you rest and strength. We ask Him to protect you and all who are suffering in these triple digit temperatures, to provide shelter, water, and refreshment, and to keep you safe day and night.

God is long suffering and rich in mercy toward those who call on Him. He sees your distress and hears your voice. Trust Him to sustain you in this trial and to show His power to comfort and deliver. If the pain in your heart continues, please seek medical care promptly and also ask those nearby to help you stay cool, hydrated, and out of the sun as much as possible.

May the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, bringing you peace, relief, and renewed strength.

Your prayer for mercy in this crushing heat has been heard, and your honesty about the pain in your heart is precious to the Lord. He does not only hear the words of your mouth, He sees what is in your heart. People look at outward appearances, but God looks at the heart, and He knows your need, your weariness, and your trust in Jesus to help you through this.

In Scripture we are taught to guard our hearts with all diligence, because from the heart flow the issues of life, and what fills the heart will come out in our words and our lives. God is most concerned with what is happening inside us, more than just outward actions. He judges the attitudes of the heart, and He is able to do what we cannot do for ourselves, to create in us a clean and pure heart. Jesus said the pure in heart will see God, and that purity is His work within us as we seek Him honestly, even as you have done by calling on Him for mercy.

We also know that God has compassion on our physical suffering. He has borne our pain and He understands the distress of the body. We are asking Him now to have mercy on you, to bring relief from this extreme heat, to ease the strain on your heart and give you strength and protection. If your heart is hurting in a physical way, please seek medical care promptly as you continue to pray, and let those around you know of your need so they can help you stay cool and safe.

We pray that the Lord will strengthen your heart and give you peace as you wait on Him, and that He will provide practical help, cooler air, water, rest, and shelter. We also look with hope to the day when Jesus will make all things new, when pain and suffering of the body will be gone and there will be no more distress. Until then, may He keep your heart close to Him, comfort you with His presence, and answer your cry for mercy with His tender care.
