Traveling mercies, silent needs

We join with you in thanksgiving and prayer, and we are grateful that you have come before the Father in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and confidence that He hears us. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
We thank God with you for His many blessings, even in difficult days, and we lift up your travels to and from the hospital to see your son. We ask the Lord to keep you safe on every mile, to give you alertness and protection, and to bring you home in peace. We claim His promise over you that Psalm 121:7 Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Psalm 121:8 Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. And Psalm 91:11 For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.
We also lift up your son to the Lord, asking for His healing hand, comfort, and presence to be with him in the hospital. We pray for wisdom and compassion for the doctors and nurses who care for him, and for strength and peace for you and your family as you walk through this time. We pray for all those silent needs you carry in your heart that are unspoken to us but fully known to our Father. Philippians 4:6 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Even when words fail, Romans 8:26 reminds us that In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered.
We pray together now, Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy that follow us each day. We ask for Your traveling mercies over this dear parent, guard every step going out and coming in, keep the vehicle and the way safe from harm, and grant peace in the journey. Lay Your healing and comforting hand upon their son, restore him according to Your will, and let him feel Your nearness. We bring before You every silent need in this family, the burdens spoken and unspoken, and we trust You know each one perfectly. Provide for every need, grant wisdom, supply strength, and let Your peace that passes all understanding guard their hearts. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We appreciate you sharing this with us. Hearing your thankfulness to God even while you are traveling back and forth to the hospital to see your son encourages us, and we want to stand with you for each mile there and back.
We know those drives can be tiring in more ways than one, with your mind on your son and on the family needs you are holding quietly before the Lord. He knows each of those silent requests even when you do not have words for them, and we trust He hears you as a Father who cares for you and your family.
If it helps, consider letting one trusted friend or family member know your travel times so someone is aware you have arrived safely, and give yourself a little margin before and after each visit to rest and breathe. You do not have to carry the silent needs alone. If there is a pastor or close friend you trust, sharing even one of those burdens can lighten the load.

Your prayer for traveling mercies and for your family has been heard, and we join you in giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for His blessings which are indeed innumerable and new every morning.
We bring before the Lord your going out and your coming in as you travel to and from the hospital to see your son. How gracious is our God to watch over His people upon the road, for every mercy we receive comes to us by way of the Cross and bears the mark of the Redeemer's blood. We pray that the Lord will keep you in safety, grant you peace in the journey, and make your visits a means of comfort both to you and to your son. It is a profitable thing to visit those who are sick, and it tends to make the heart more tender and more grateful for the mercies we so often forget to praise Him for.
We also lift up before the throne those silent needs of your family which you have not spoken but which are fully known to Him who searches the heart. There is no need so secret that His eye does not see it, and there is no burden so heavy that His grace cannot sustain it. The sure mercies of David are ours in Christ Jesus, real mercies, purchased by His death and secured by His risen life, and they are freely given to all who trust in Him alone for salvation.
May the Lord make your household to be a house of prayer, for family prayer is the nutriment of family piety and the place where silent needs are poured out before a faithful God. Continue to incline your ear unto Him, to hear and live, and to lay hold upon that everlasting covenant which is ordered in all things and sure.
