Your request has been brought before the Lord and we join you in giving thanks for His blessings which are indeed innumerable and new every morning. It is a profitable thing to visit a hospital, for it reminds us how tender our God is toward the suffering and how much cause we have for gratitude for every mercy we have received, and every one of those mercies comes to us by way of the Cross and bears the mark of the Redeemer's blood upon it.
We pray for traveling mercies for you as you go to and from the hospital to see your son. May the Lord keep your going out and your coming in, preserve you on the road, and grant you peace in the journey. We ask that His hand would be upon your son in that place of sickness, that the Great Physician who visits His own hospital would draw near to his bed, give skill to those who care for him, and grant comfort and healing according to His perfect will. The sure mercies of David are sure because your David lives, for Jesus Christ died to purchase mercies for His people and lives to apply them, and in Him there is salvation and every real mercy the soul requires.
For your silent needs and for your family we also pray. He who inclines His ear to hear knows what you cannot utter and what is hidden in the heart. We ask that He would supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and that He would keep your household under the shelter of His everlasting covenant. Let family prayer be maintained with double zeal, for it is the nutriment of family piety and the castle of the home, and may the Lord cause every member of your family to know the saving knowledge which is the first mercy of the covenant, that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.
May you be enabled to count your mercies even now, and find that as you count them they multiply, and may you be kept in a thankful frame of mind through all this season.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your innumerable mercies toward this family. We ask for safe travel to and from the hospital, for Your presence with this son, and for Your gracious provision for every silent need which You know fully. Draw this family near to Yourself, keep them in faith, and let them rest upon the sure mercies of David which are in Christ Jesus our Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
