Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard, and it is a beautiful expression of a parent's love entrusted to the Father's greater love.
We join you in placing him completely in the Lord's hands, asking for traveling mercies, protection on the road, and a safe return home to his family healthy and blessed. We ask the Lord to go before him, to surround him with His presence, to give His angels charge over him to keep him in all his ways, and to guide every step he takes.
You can pray with confidence because of what God has done for you in Christ. Scripture says that in the fullness of time God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law so that we might receive adoption as sons. Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. We are not sons in that same unique and eternal sense. We are adopted sons and daughters through faith in Him, and because we are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts crying, Abba, Father. That means you can come boldly before God as a beloved child, and He hears you as a perfect Father hears His own.
That Father's love is shown most clearly when He gave His only begotten Son for the world. When Abraham was told to take his son, his only son whom he loved, and offer him, it was a picture of what God Himself would do in giving His Son as a sacrifice for us. The love of a father for his son helps us glimpse, in a small way, the great love with which the Father has loved us. The same God who did not withhold His own Son will surely care for your son.
We also pray as you asked that no weapon formed against him will prosper, for that promise belongs to the servants of the Lord. We ask for wisdom and discernment for every decision he faces, for favor wherever he goes, and for the Lord to remove obstacles and open doors according to His perfect will. May the Lord make his business prosper as it aligns with His purposes, and may everything be done with integrity and peace.
Just as God in creation placed a covering of protection around the earth, so He covers His children with His own protection and care. He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, and He is near to you and to your son by His Spirit. No one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son reveals Him, and through Jesus you have access to that Father's care.
We will continue to pray that the Lord keeps your son from all harm and danger, grants him grace and favor, and brings him safely home again. May you rest in the assurance that you have entrusted him to the One whose love and power never fail, in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
