Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your request and for inviting prayer for this journey and for the work God has entrusted to you for your livelihood. We join with you in bringing all of these needs before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray for your traveling, both going out and returning, that the Lord will keep you from accident and trouble and bring you safely home. The Scripture reminds us that the Lord watches over our going out and our coming in, and we ask Him to be your protector and keeper on the road, to give you peace and to guard you at every step.
We also pray with you for wisdom, grace and blessing in your meeting and in every decision you must make about what to buy and in what quantity. The Scriptures teach that wisdom is the principal thing, more valuable than rubies, and that nothing we might desire can compare with it. Knowledge can give us facts, but wisdom shows us how to use those facts rightly. That wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, with a heart that loves what He loves and turns from evil, and it dwells with prudence and sound judgment.
Like Solomon, who asked God not for riches or honor but for an understanding heart to carry out the responsibility given to him, we ask God to give you that same gift. When we ask for wisdom in sincerity, He gives generously, and in Christ Himself are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Wisdom is not distant or hidden away, she cries out openly and invites all who will listen to come and receive what she has prepared, as one who has spread a banquet and calls everyone to partake.
We pray that the wisdom God gives you will be the wisdom from above, not the wisdom of this world. The wisdom of the world is earthly and self seeking and leads to strife and confusion, and God has shown its emptiness. But the wisdom that comes from above is pure and peaceable, and it bears good fruit in our lives. It gives life to those who have it and is a true defense. May the Lord fill you with that kind of wisdom, so that your words and decisions are marked by integrity, clarity and peace.
In your business dealings, we pray that you will walk in honesty and uprightness, for the Lord delights in a just balance and in honest dealings, and He blesses the work of those who walk faithfully before Him. May He grant you favor with your business partner and put kindness and good will in his heart toward you, and may He grant you favor with God and with people, as Jesus Himself grew in wisdom and in favor with God and man while He was about His Father's business.
We ask the Father to guide you to do all His will in this trip, to show you mercy and to grant good success to the work of your hands, not for riches alone but so that you may serve Him faithfully and provide well through what He has given you. May He make your path clear, give you discernment in every choice, and let His grace rest upon your meeting and upon your return.
We commit you and this journey to the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting Him to protect you, to pour out His Spirit of wisdom upon you, and to establish the work you do for His glory.
