Isaiah 7:25:
As for all the hills once cultivated by the hoe, you will no longer go there for fear of the briers and thorns; they will become places where cattle are turned loose and where sheep run.

A Prayer Based on Isaiah 7:25:
Our prayer:
Heavenly Father,
You see the seasons of abundance and the seasons when the landscape of our lives feels overgrown, dry, or full of thorns. Forgive us for the times we have turned away from Your wisdom or relied on our own strength instead of standing firm in faith.
LORD God, when our plans and labors feel deserted or turned into wilderness, help us not to cower in fear. Transform what is broken, and teach us to trust in Your sovereign care even when the fields change. Guide our steps, restore our hope, and lead us safely through the trials of this life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join with you in this beautiful and humble prayer and we thank you for sharing your heart with us before the Lord.

We are moved by your words to transform what is broken and to teach us to trust in Your sovereign care even when the fields change, for that is exactly the heart of Isaiah 7:25. In context, God was speaking to King Ahaz who was trembling in fear of his enemies instead of standing firm in faith. The Lord warned that the hills once cultivated with care would become overgrown with briers and thorns and become pasture for cattle and sheep. What was once fruitful by human labor would be changed by God's sovereign hand, both as a consequence of unbelief and as a reminder that He remains in control of every season. As it is written, If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established Isaiah 7:9.

We confess with you that we often turn from His wisdom and rely on our own strength, and we praise God that He is merciful to forgive and to restore. When our plans feel like a wilderness and the landscape of our lives feels dry or thorny, we can trust that He has not abandoned us but is still shepherding us.

We take comfort in His promises, Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. Even when the fields change, He makes us to lie down in green pastures. He leads us beside still waters. He restores our soul Psalm 23:2-3.

We love that you lifted up Jesus as the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life, for He truly is. Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty John 6:35. And In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God John 1:1. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name we find hope and restoration.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, our Bread of Heaven and Living Word. We thank You that You see every season of abundance and every season when our hearts feel overgrown and weary. Forgive us for the times we have not stood firm in faith and have leaned on our own understanding. Lord, we ask You to transform what is broken in us and around us. Teach us to trust Your sovereign care even when the fields of our lives look unfamiliar. Guide our steps when we cannot see the path, restore our hope when we are discouraged, and lead us safely through every trial. Shepherd us as Your flock and let us rest in Your provision and Your promises. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing You are making all things new for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in faith and to abide in His Word daily, for He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. May the Lord keep you and give you peace as you trust Him through every changing field.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer with us. We hear how much you want God to take what feels tangled and broken and make it whole again, and to learn a steadier trust when the ground under you has changed.

It makes sense that when familiar fields look overgrown or unfamiliar, hope can feel thin. Trust is not something we master all at once, it grows as we keep turning to the One who is trustworthy with small, daily choices to rely on Him. Hope then becomes an anchor, not because circumstances immediately clear, but because we are learning again who God is and that He is present and caring even in a wilderness season.

One simple practice that often helps in such a season is to name just one area that feels most overgrown right now each morning and quietly place that one concern before the Lord, asking for wisdom for the next step only, rather than carrying the whole field at once. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer, sharing that one step with them can also bring perspective and prayer support.

Father, we bring this heart before You, You see the weariness and the desire to trust You more. Transform what is broken in Your way and timing, teach us to rest in Your care, guide our steps today, restore hope where it has worn thin, and lead us safely in Your will. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Bread of Heaven and Word of Life. Amen.

Your prayer touches upon a truth which every pilgrim must learn, that the fields of this life do change, and hills once cultivated by the hoe may become overgrown with briers and thorns. Yet even there the Lord has not abdicated His throne. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe troubles, we believe that Sovereignty hath ordained our afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them, and that Sovereignty will sanctify them all. What appears to you as wilderness is still under His hand, for there is a manifestation of divine Sovereignty in all things, and we must learn to recognize and admire it.

You speak of seasons when the landscape feels dry and full of thorns, and you ask to be taught to trust. It is so with many of the Lord's people. Even after we have been raised up together with Jesus and have obtained citizenship in Zion, we may find ourselves in the wilderness. In some senses to a Christian this world must always be a dry and thirsty land. But if we are in the wilderness, is not God the God of the wilderness. Were not His greatest marvels worked when He led His people through the howling wilderness and fed them with manna and revealed Himself in the fiery, cloudy pillar. Where did Hagar find Him who saw her but in the wilderness, where did Moses see the Lord in the bush but at the backside of the desert. He is still there, and He humbles us that we may say, I am unworthy of the least of all Thy mercies, and Thou hast a right to do with me as Thou wilt.

You ask Him to transform what is broken and to restore hope. Remember that where God begins to work, He does not ask us to finish. He always completes His own work. It would be cheap faith to take Christ as the saints Savior, but it is the faith of God's elect to take Him as the sinner's Savior. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. Look not to your own strength, nor measure God's power and grace by your own merit, but look from yourself to Jesus. He is the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life, and whosoever trusts in His blood has received his title straight from the throne of God. He is the Word of God incarnate, and in Him present peace and future perfection are secured, for hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.

May the Lord therefore answer your prayer according to His wisdom. May He guide your steps when the path is thorny, and lead you safely through the trials of this life, not by removing every brier at once, but by teaching you to trust and not to fear. May He turn what seems a place for wandering cattle into pasture for His own sheep, and may He give you that good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ, in whose name alone is salvation.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
