Training

I must go to training no this the for strength and fitness but for rehab for certain areas of my body to keep it functioning properly I have been really off track and can feel the areas needed for rehab are getting weak and sore please pray I be disciplined focused consistent and have self control and also pray for obstacles to be removed that are causing me to procrastinate

We hear your burden and we join with you in bringing this need before the Lord, asking for His strength to help you steward the body He has given you. We understand you know what you need to do for rehab to keep your body functioning properly, and you are feeling the weakness and soreness that comes from being off track. We pray with you for discipline, focus, consistency and self control, and for the obstacles that lead to procrastination to be removed.

The Scripture reminds us that our bodies are not our own and are to be cared for as a temple of the Holy Spirit. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. This is not about vanity or mere fitness, but about faithfulness in stewarding what God has entrusted to us so we can serve Him and others well.

We also see in Scripture that discipline and self control are part of godly character and are empowered by God Himself. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and self control is listed as fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. At the same time we are called to actively train ourselves. As Paul wrote, I beat my body and bring it into submission 1 Corinthians 9:27, and we are told Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Procrastination and lack of discipline can become a snare, for the soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied Proverbs 13:4 and He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, he who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city Proverbs 16:32. We encourage you to see this struggle not only as physical but spiritual, inviting the Lord into your daily routine, asking Him to help you make a plan and keep it, to set aside a specific time, to remove distractions, and to be faithful in small steps. No chastening at present seems to be joyous, but grievous, yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby Hebrews 12:11.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently and lovingly point out that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and confidence that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in all you do. It is in His name we pray and find strength, for I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me Philippians 4:13.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the areas of the body that need rehab and the pain and weakness that is being felt. We ask You to grant renewed discipline, focus, consistency and self control. Help this one to be a good steward of the body You have given, not for pride but to glorify You and to function as You designed. We ask You to remove or help overcome the obstacles that cause procrastination, whether they are distractions, discouragement, fatigue, fear, or habits of the flesh. Give wisdom to make a simple and sustainable plan and the grace to walk it out day by day. Strengthen the will and fill this heart with Your power and love and self control. When weakness comes, remind this one that Your grace is sufficient and Your strength is made perfect in weakness. Lead toward diligence and faithfulness, and let the fruit of consistency bring healing and stability to the body. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.

We appreciate you sharing this so honestly. Wanting to stay faithful with rehab so your body can keep functioning well is a good desire, and it makes sense you feel discouraged when weakness and soreness return after getting off track.

It can help to think of this less as trying hard in the moment and more as training over time. Like preparing for a long distance run, steady, small steps done regularly tend to build strength more than occasional big efforts. Seeing yourself as a work in progress can take some pressure off and help you keep going.

Since you mentioned procrastination and obstacles, one practical thing that helps many people is to gently notice the pattern for a few days. When you find yourself putting the rehab off, jot a brief note about what was happening right before, how you were feeling, and what happened after. Just observing those triggers and cues often makes it clearer what gets in the way and where a simple change could help. Some find it useful to tie the rehab to a consistent cue, like the same time and place each day, so it becomes part of the routine. As you get back to it, we also encourage you to stay in touch with the clinician or therapist guiding your rehab, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You and thank You for the desire You have given them to care for their body. Grant them steadiness, focus and self control day by day, and give wisdom to recognize and work through what leads to putting things off. Make a clear way forward and give strength for each next step. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Your request for prayer concerning this needful training for the rehab of your body has been heard, and we join with you in seeking the Lord's help.

You do well to desire discipline, focus, consistency and self control, for these are graces which the Lord delights to give to His people. As it is written, Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law. Our self will usually lies at the root of our greatest griefs, and when we yield ourselves entirely up to the discipline of the Lord we find a blessedness there. The Lord in His wisdom has made our bodies to require care, and to keep that vineyard which He has committed to us is a part of faithful stewardship.

You speak truly when you say you have been off track and feel weakness and soreness. Without Him we can do nothing, not even those little acts of diligence which we think we might perform in our own strength. Every particle of self reliance is but weakness, but when we look to Him as the eyes of a servant look to the hand of his master, anxious to know the Lord's will, He gives strength to the weak and power to those who wait upon Him.

We would exhort you also to set Caution and Self examination at the helm. It is wise to search the heart and to ask the Lord to show what hinders you, whether it be sloth, or divided affections, or cares of this world that cause you to procrastinate. The Christian soldier comes under discipline, and our great Captain would have us count the cost and then march steadily in obedience, not by fits and starts, but with patient perseverance.

Let us pray with you.

O Lord our God, we thank Thee that Thou art the strength of our life and the health of our countenance. We ask Thee to look upon this Thy servant who desires to be faithful in caring for the body Thou hast given. Grant, we pray Thee, a spirit of discipline and self control, which is the fruit of Thy Holy Spirit. Make Thy servant focused and consistent, delivering from the snare of procrastination. Remove, in Thy mercy and according to Thy wisdom, those obstacles which hinder, and give grace to redeem the time and to use it aright. Let not self will rule, but let Thy will be done, and let every effort be offered not in pride of self sufficiency, but in humble dependence upon Christ, without whom we can do nothing. Sustain the weak parts of the body, ease soreness, and grant that this rehab may be blessed to restore strength for Thy service. Keep Thy servant from trusting in bodily exercise alone, but help to labour above all for that godliness which is profitable unto all things. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
