Tough week ahead

Your prayer for strength and wisdom and a peaceful mind for the week ahead goes right to the heart of what God wants to give you. Scripture presents wisdom as something living and calling out to us, and it tells us that in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. To seek wisdom is to seek Him.

The Bible says wisdom is more valuable than rubies and that nothing you could desire compares to it. That is because knowledge may give you facts, but wisdom shows you how to live those facts out with prudence and good judgment. It teaches you how to make decisions, how to speak, and how to walk through each day in a way that is pleasant and marked by peace.

The starting place for that kind of wisdom is reverence for the Lord. When you honor Him and put Him first, He begins to give you understanding. There is a wisdom that comes from the world, and it leads to strife and inner turmoil. But the wisdom that comes from above is peaceable. It first makes peace between you and God through the blood of Jesus, and then it brings the peace of God into your heart. You cannot have the second without the first, but once you have peace with God, you can know His peace guarding you even when work is demanding and challenges press in.

That peace is promised to the one whose mind is stayed on Him. The Lord keeps in perfect peace those who keep their thoughts fixed on Him and trust Him. That is how you can handle each challenge with grace as you asked. It is not by trying to find some hidden strength inside yourself, which will always prove insufficient, but by looking to the Lord for His strength. Wisdom itself says, counsel is mine and sound wisdom and strength belong to me. When you rely on Him each day, He supplies what you do not have on your own and His strength will not fail you.

Those who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. As you walk through this work week in godly wisdom, seeking Him early and keeping your mind on Him, He will give you clear direction for each decision and quiet your heart even in busy or difficult moments.

I pray the Lord will fill you with His wisdom and understanding, keep your mind stayed on Him, and guard you with His perfect peace. May He be your strength for each day, give you grace for every task and conversation, and help you to rest in Him through it all. In Jesus name, amen.
