Totally lost it

We hear your deep concern and distress, and we come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting this man up in prayer. The state you describe, losing one’s mind, is a profound cry for divine intervention, mercy, and restoration. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even in moments of utter despair, God is not distant; He draws near to the broken and the lost.

First, we must address the foundational truth that salvation and healing come only through Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If this man does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray fervently that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart, draw him to repentance, and lead him to place his faith in Christ. Without this, no true or lasting healing can take place.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for this man who is lost and struggling. Lord, we ask that You would break through the darkness that has taken hold of his mind. You are the God who restores, who heals, and who sets the captives free. We declare that the spirit of confusion, fear, or torment has no place in his life, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We rebuke every lie of the enemy that has taken root in his thoughts. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against any stronghold of mental anguish, depression, or despair, and we command it to be broken in the name of Jesus. We pray that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, if there is unconfessed sin in his life, whether it be bitterness, unforgiveness, addiction, or anything that has separated him from Your presence, we ask that You would bring it to light. Your Word says in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon him, that he would turn away from anything that grieves You and run into Your arms of mercy.

We also lift up those around him, family, friends, or caregivers, who may be trying to help. Give them wisdom, patience, and compassion as they walk alongside him. Let them be vessels of Your love and truth, pointing him back to You. Remind them that their strength comes from You, Lord, for Your Word says, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).

If this man is not in a place where he can pray for himself, we stand in the gap for him. We declare that he is not forgotten, for You have said, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands" (Isaiah 49:15-16). Lord, engrave his name upon Your heart and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way.

We pray for divine intervention, whether through medical help, godly counsel, or a supernatural touch from Your hand. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:27). We ask that You would restore his mind, renew his spirit, and give him a fresh revelation of Your love and purpose for his life.

Above all, we pray that he would come to know You, Lord Jesus, if he does not already. Let this trial be the very thing that draws him into a saving relationship with You. May he experience the truth of Romans 8:28, that "all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

We trust You, Lord, to move mightily in this situation. We declare that this is not the end of his story, but a chapter where You are writing redemption, healing, and hope. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We hear the fear and exhaustion behind those words. When someone you care about becomes unrecognizable, when their thinking seems to shatter and you feel helpless watching it, it can feel like the ground has disappeared beneath both of you. We are so sorry you are walking through this.

One of the most disorienting parts of watching someone spiral is not knowing what is really going on inside them. The line between a spiritual struggle and a mental-health crisis is not always clear, and even sincere Christians sometimes rush to a single explanation when the situation may need more than one kind of attention. What does seem clear is that a person in this state needs steady, patient help from someone who knows how to ask careful questions, someone who will not jump to labels but will prayerfully work toward an accurate understanding. That kind of discerning care can be an answer to prayer itself. If your friend has not yet been seen by a wise pastor or a Christian counselor experienced with severe distress, that may be the most loving next step you can take right now.

In the meantime, please do not carry this alone. Confide in at least one mature believer who will pray with you specifically and consistently. The weight of watching a loved one lose their way can press you flat; you were not meant to bear it by yourself.

Lord Jesus, you see this man in his turmoil, and you are not afraid of what looks like chaos to us. Bring clarity where there is confusion, and place the right people in his path, people who carry both your Spirit and the wisdom to recognize what is really happening. Guard him from harm and from any voice that would exploit his distress. And for the one who wrote to us: hold them steady, give them endurance, and let them sense your nearness even in this hard waiting. We ask all of this in your name, Jesus. Amen.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26

When a man has lost his mind, it is a desperate case indeed, and none but the Lord can give true help. Yet it is written that Christ healed those possessed of demons and cast out evil spirits with a word. There is no case too hard for Him, no mind so far gone that His power cannot restore. Let your cry for help go up to our blessed Master! Come again, great Lord, and cast out the evil spirit from men and get to Yourself the victory in many a heart.

If this man is wandering in darkness, it is because the carnal mind is enmity against God. Until the Spirit subdues him, he will rage and resist. But do not think his state is beyond hope, for God delights in mercy. When the ravens cry to Him for food, He hears them, and are you not much better than they? Cry out for this poor soul as the ravens cry, with an urgency that will not be silenced, and remember that when you pray, it is God the Holy Spirit crying in you. He will hear. He will answer in His time.

Yet mind yourself, for if you have been trying to find a way of access to God for this man and feel you cannot reach the throne, it may be you have not yet perceived the path. It is Christ alone who brings us near, His blood has made peace. Get to your chamber and there cry unto God. Cease not your cries. Prayer has a wonderful effect on God. He turns at the cry that comes from the heart. Go straight to God in Christ Jesus. Do not go about to sacraments and sermons, much less to priests, but go straight to Him. Cry, "O God, though this man does not know You, yet early will I seek You for his sake! My heart longs for You to save him!"

Do not be neutral in this. This is not a point upon which any can afford to be neutral. If he does not find God, he is lost. Plead the cause of his soul. Plead for him in a private way, for there is great power in pleading with God for individuals. Resign him to God. Commit him to God by faith. Trust him with the God who raised Jesus from the dead. And if the Lord should seem to hide His face, still cry, "My God, my God," even when you must add, "why have You forsaken me?" Cling to God for this man with a double-handed faith. Give God no rest till He grants deliverance, for He is a happy God who delights to forgive, to press His Ephraim to His bosom, to say of this prodigal, "He was lost, but is found."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do not despair for this man, as though his case were beyond the reach of divine mercy. The throne of grace is still set, and now is the accepted time, the day of salvation. If we come boldly with a pure conscience, we find grace to help in time of need. But let us not imagine that our prayers alone will suffice if he himself remains asleep.

The Church prayed earnestly for Peter and he was delivered, yet Peter himself was on the alert. Even Paul needed the prayers of others, and so do we all. How much more, then, does this man need both our intercession and his own awakening! For what benefit is it to be called a son of God if one does not show forth the excellence of that high birth?

If a man trusts in circumcision, Christ profits him nothing. So too, if his mind is shattered, the root is often a soul empty of the Holy Spirit, for the world cannot receive Him. But God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, can restore even a mind undone. Let us not demand a messenger from hell to tell us these things; we have the sure promises of God, and in Christ they are yea and Amen, to His glory.

The body itself can become an arm of righteousness if the mind is set on heavenly things. Therefore, pray with fervor, and urge him while there is yet season, lest the Judge rise up and pardon be no more. The grace that remits sins and gives life is mighty to save even the most lost.
