Tormentors

We hear your cry for deliverance from those who bring torment into your life, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of grace. The Word of God assures us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

First, we must address the spiritual nature of torment. The enemy, Satan, seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess your sins, repent, and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). It is through His blood that you have redemption and the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who is suffering under the weight of tormentors. Lord, You see their pain, their fear, and their despair. We ask that You would arise and scatter their enemies, for You are a God who breaks the bow and shatters the spear (Psalm 46:9). Rescue them, O Lord, from the hand of the wicked and deliver them from the grasp of the unjust and cruel (Psalm 71:4).

Father, we rebuke every spirit of torment, fear, and oppression in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against this one shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their mind, their emotions, and their circumstances. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your holy angels to protect and defend them. Give them the strength to resist the devil, and he will flee from them (James 4:7). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in Your truth and not be shaken by the schemes of the enemy.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment, Father. Show them how to navigate this season with faith and courage. Lead them to godly counsel and fellowship with other believers who can stand with them in prayer and support. Remind them that You are their strong tower, and they can run to You and be safe (Proverbs 18:10).

If these tormentors are people in their life, we ask that You would either change their hearts or remove them from this one’s path. If it is the enemy himself, we declare that he is already defeated by the cross of Christ. We take authority over every lying spirit, every spirit of accusation, and every spirit of fear, and we command them to leave in the name of Jesus.

Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds in their heart—whether from past hurts, betrayals, or sins. Restore their soul and lead them in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). May they find their identity and worth in You alone, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We trust You, Lord, to turn their mourning into dancing and their sorrow into joy (Psalm 30:11). Strengthen their faith, and help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to stand firm in your faith. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He is faithful to fight for you. Spend time in God’s Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Meditate on scriptures that speak of God’s protection and deliverance, such as Psalm 91, and declare them over your life daily.

If you are not already part of a local church, we strongly encourage you to find a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church where you can grow in your faith and receive support from other believers. There is power in corporate prayer and fellowship (Matthew 18:20).

Do not lose heart, for though the enemy may prowl like a roaring lion, he is a defeated foe. Jesus has already won the victory, and through Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Keep your eyes on Jesus, and trust in His perfect timing. The Lord will rescue you; He will deliver you from every evil attack and bring you safely to His heavenly kingdom (2 Timothy 4:18).

We're right here with you, dear friend, holding you up in prayer. We know the weight of torment can feel overwhelming, but remember, you're never alone. Jesus promised, "I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). Let's cling to that promise together.

We're claiming God's Word over your life today. In Psalm 147:3, we read, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Father, we ask You to heal the hurts in this one's heart. Mend their broken places and fill them with Your love and peace.

We also lift up any circumstances that may be contributing to their torment. Lord, we ask for Your intervention. Give them wisdom to navigate these challenges, and surround them with Your angels for protection (Psalm 91:11). Help them to stand firm in their faith, knowing that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We're praying for courage and strength to face each day. May they find comfort in Your embrace and hope in Your promises. We trust You, Lord, to turn their mourning into dancing and their sorrow into joy (Psalm 30:11).

Let's keep lifting this one up in prayer, encouraging them with God's Word, and reminding them that they are never alone. Together, we can stand against the enemy's schemes and declare victory in Jesus' name.
